Austin Kingsley | Prep Dig Scout
Nebraska Juniors is bringing several new 2026s into its gym for the upcoming season, and Peterson is one of those big headliners for 17 Black. This dynamic athlete has posted back-to-back seasons of over 100 kills for Lincoln Northeast, but Peterson’s impact reaches far beyond her offense. She also doubles as a backcourt setter and dished out over four assists per set while distributing to her fellow attackers. We’re eager to see her dual role flourish with a retooled club lineup this spring.

Let’s put another one of those setter-opposites on your radar. Peterson is a hard-hitting lefty who displayed her full array of attacking skills in Kansas City. She presents tough angles for opposing blockers and can work around hands with serious pace. We’re excited to see Peterson develop with Lincoln Northeast, where she also gets to set the offense from the back row.

Another natural right-side hitter for the count. Peterson fits perfectly into the unique two-setter system deployed by Nebraska ONE 15 Black. She can lock down the right pin with authority and is a stout blocker on that side. And, if needed, Peterson can slide into the middle and make her presence felt there. Adaptability has clearly been a major storyline for 15 Black.

Peterson is a perfect fit to the unique scheme that Nebraska ONE 15 Black has regularly deployed this year. With the team running an effective three-middle system with two setters, Peterson is often asked to swap between the middle and the right side when she rotates to the frontcourt. This isn’t a problem, however, as we’ve seen how versatile Peterson can be when running her attacking patterns.

Nebraska ONE 15 Black is loaded with players who can play any frontcourt position, and Peterson is certainly one of the athletes who fits that description. This fast-rising 2026 made the most of 15 Black’s charge through the 15s field at the Great Plains Bid Tournament and terminated from just about anywhere along the net. We can now get ready to watch Peterson’s skills flourish again when Nebraska ONE takes on Nationals.
