Player Bio
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
My volleyball gameplay style is strategic and dynamic. I use my volleyball IQ to read the opposing team’s defense and make quick decisions on the court. I excel in setting my hitters with precision and varying my sets to keep the blockers off balance. My focus is on maintaining a fast-paced offense, communicating effectively with my teammates, and helping to increase my team’s performance.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
My sports mentality is characterized by resilience, determination, and a team-first attitude. I approach each game with a competitive spirit, always striving to improve and push my limits. I stay focused under pressure, maintain a positive mindset, and encourage my teammates, believing that our collective effort leads to success. I use both victories and setbacks to excel in volleyball.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I’m in volunteer with my church as a youth group leader in which I mentor and support my peers in weekly meetings and activities. I help to plan and organize community service projects and events and help peers develop personally and spiritually. I also perform in a Polynesian culture dance group. Performing Polynesian dances deepens my understanding and connection to my Polynesian heritage.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
Through my role as a peer mentor at my church, I have honed my leadership skills by guiding and supporting my peers in various activities. Performing Polynesian dances has enriched my understanding of teamwork and cultural unity, enhancing my ability to connect with others. Additionally, organizing community service projects has strengthened my commitment to serving and improving my community.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
Yes, balancing my roles as a peer mentor, student-athlete, and teammate has been challenging. Managing time effectively and prioritizing commitments have been crucial to maintaining high performance in sports, academics, and community activities. Despite the pressure, these experiences have been rewarding and have strengthened my resilience and dedication.
What type of college are you looking for?
As a student-athlete pursuing a medical degree, I seek a college with a strong pre-med program, academic support, and flexibility for athletic commitments. A supportive environment that values both academics and sports, along with opportunities for cultural engagement and community service, is essential for my growth.
