Meera jumped from 98 to 90 in the rankings. At 6’1″ she has some height but her teammate at MVSA and Churchill Siyena Fitsum Siyena Fitsum 6'3" | RS/MB Churchill | 2027 State VA lists at 6’5″. Siyena has moved to right side while Meera remains at middle. For Churchill Siyena finished second on the team in kills while Meera finished sixth. This club season Meera seemed to improve her offense with her hitting approach appearing more in synch. Her blocking is still her strength, leading Churchill in blocks. Siyena still leads Churchill in solo blocks.

Last year Churchill lost to two time state champion Richard Montgomery twice during the regular season. When they faced each other in the quarterfinals of the state championship playoffs Churchill won in five. Unfortunately, they lost in the semi-finals to eventual champion Broadneck.

With the return of sophomore Angela Zhang Angela Zhang 5'11" | OH Churchill | 2029 State VA on the outside and Siyena hitting right side Churchill will again be a force. They also return Lucille Deraleau Lucille Deraleau 5'10" | RS Churchill | 2027 State VA , who led the team in kills. Unfortunately, Churchill will need to find a new setter.
