McCarthy has really come into her own as a 2027 setter gearing up for recruitment come this June. She is poised, makes smart setting decisions, and does an excellent job getting her feet to the ball so that she can deliver clean sets to her attackers. While all that is important, where she most impresses me and sets herself apart from her peers, is in her ability to be bold. She doesn’t just deliver the easy set, instead, she will make the hard play like finding middles when off the net and reversing the ball when on the other side of the court. I can’t wait to see more of her in the upcoming months and years.
