“Big arm” was the first note I jotted down while watching the incoming freshman from Andover. She generated impressive power on a number of her swings, with the ball consistently jumping off her hand. The physical tools are already evident, and with several years of development ahead of her, there’s plenty of upside. If she adds a few more inches through another growth spurt, she has the potential to become an even more imposing attacker.

The future is here. Sunday’s showcase was an important introduction to the Class of 2030, and Moutray was eager to make a big first impression. Even while facing off against older foes, Moutray was a six-on-six star with the athleticism needed to cut sharp angles. Moutray’s quick arm didn’t waver as she moved to different gaps at the net and adjusted to varying tempos from her setters. Next year’s 15s group at Shockwave will give us plenty of Heart of America Region storylines.
