Player Bio
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
I would describe my gameplay by playing smart and putting the ball in places where the other team players are not . I try to utilize the block as much as I can by tooling and I swing hard especially it’s a good set
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
My mentality is to try and shake off a bad play. I don’t try to keep thinking about bad plays but instead learn from it, trust my training and my capabilities and focus on doing better next serve. I am learning to not be so hard on myself because that makes it worse. Some of my strategies is to take deep breaths and say some positive affirmations and trust in myself.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I did participate in my schools wrestling club, science club, and volleyball club. Outside of sports, I have received student of the year, student of the month 2x, student of the quarter, student of the week, and high and regular honors all throughout 7th and 8th grade.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
Skills or qualities I have developed is being positive in tough times. I am a hard worker, go above and beyond what’s expected of me. I have had many leadership opportunities through many years of Girl Scouts from 1st grade all through 8th earning Bronze as a cadets and silver award as a junior, and I always stay kind no matter what. I also help with my little brother as both my parents work.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
My second year in volleyball there was only two middles on the team so playing time was no issue. However, this year we had 3 so it was hard for me to adapt initially. But, I persevered through that and worked harder even when I didn’t get playtime, remained positive and cheered on our team to victory. Even thought it was incredibly hard for me, I remainder positive and my coaches acknowledged it.
What type of college are you looking for?
D1 colleges preferrable in California that are academically strong. I have great education as much as I value great volleyball.
Top schools are
UCLA
UC Berkeley (my sister is an Alumni)
UCSD
U Penn
