Whitinger is an outstanding libero, with amazing defensive instincts. She just sees the court and the block so well, and so fast in her footwork to get to the right spot to take away those big swings that a hitter for sure will go down, only to see it up and in-system by Whitinger. She is also very consistent and balanced in the serve receive lanes, allowing their team offense to run very smoothly.

Whitinger, ranked 3rd in her positional group in the class of 2027, is a speedy libero, moving effortlessly to the ball to make a play. She reads the court well in the backrow, head always on a swivel to make the next move.

Whitinger is an elite libero who makes her job look easy with quick footwork, a solid platform, and confidence using her hands in out-of-system situations. Her effortless reads elevate her play and provide stability to her team’s backcourt.

Whitinger recently broke into the top 20 for the class of 2027 and now sits as the #2 DS/L in the class, according to PrepDig Oregon rankings. After watching her anchor the backcourt for Corvallis this past fall it is easy to see why. She oozes raw athleticism, which aids in her ability to be dynamic and quick on the court. She has active feet on both serve receive and defense, always ready to react and move to the ball. Also, her ability to step in with her hands to put up an attachable out of system ball was noted.

Whitinger was utilized more as a defensive specialist than a libero over Regionals for G3 16-1. She is incredibly athletic and moves around the court well. She showcased no fear of sacrificing her body to keep the ball alive.
