is one of the top ranked liberos in the area. She played in both the 18 and 17 Junior National championships with Virginia Juniors. She is extremely athletic while on the floor, while combining that witha strong volleyball IQ to know where to play defense.
In high school Nia plays libero for Bullis, one of the top ten high school teams in the DMV area. Her libero play will be critical if the Bulldogs hope to win their first Independent School League (ISL) championship. The offensive pieces are there.

A solid libero who brings quickness and athleticism to the position. A team leader on the court as well. This year she got an opportunity to play on the 18 team when they played in Baltimore.
Juniors carries weapons at both the pins and middles. They need the steady passing and hustling defense that Nia provides at libero in order to create their offense.

At 5’7″ Nia has a longer frame than many liberos. This allows her to play shallower as a libero and still dig the deep balls with her strong hands. She got the opportunity to play for the Virginia Juniors 18 team at the Junior Nationals in Baltimore. Nia will get another opportunity to play in the Junior Nationals at the Freedom Division in Las Vegas with the 17 team. Nia also plays libero for a competitive Bullis High School team. They will compete next year with Flint Hill and Georgetown Day for the Independent School League (ISL) conference title. Nia is an athletic player at this position. It would not surprise me if she was also a pretty good hitter in the front row.

When you look at her frame she appears she could have success as an outside hitter. Her height dictates the libero position suits her best. She plays it well, more times than not putting herself in the right position to dig a ball. Bullis has an interesting group of talented offensive players next year, but it will be all for naught without a libero to provide the opportunities to play in system. Like all good liberos her foot movement begins before the server contacts the ball making it easier for her to move to the ball on serve receive. Nia jumped from 42 to 27 in the rankings.
