Instead of letting the same play repeat, Piper made a mental note, widened her transition, got her left hand over sooner, and started shutting the hitter down.

That type of adjustment changes how offenses attack.

Her offensive growth this season has come through line attacking. She talks about improving her footwork, getting her left hip around the ball, and becoming much more consistent terminating down the line from the right side.

“What I take pride in most right now is that I finally made a team where the majority of the players are better than me.”

“I know that volleyball is a game of mistakes and I need to shake off my last error by understanding what I did wrong and fixing my error in the next play.”

She has the size to be effective at either pin and showed comfort transitioning between roles without losing rhythm. Piper attacks with a confident swing and does a good job using the full court, keeping defenders from settling into predictable patterns. There were moments where her ability to adjust mid play stood out, especially when working through imperfect sets. She also contributed at the net defensively, using her length to challenge opposing hitters. Her game has a balanced feel, allowing her to impact multiple phases without forcing production. Piper is a player who can give a lineup flexibility while still maintaining a strong offensive presence.
