Riley Isfeld
Middle Blocker/Outside Hitter
About Riley
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
I am a six rotation pin hitter with experience as a libero, opposite, middle blocker, and outside hitter. I truly value the opportunities I have had in all positions. I am a hard worker, and I am dedicated to not only being coachable but also giving 100% for each of my teammates.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
My coaches have described me as an athlete who perseveres and plays with heart. My family has a motto, “Isfeld’s never give up”. I strive to apply this on the court and in all other aspects of my life.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I am currently involved in FCA “Fellowship of Christian Athletes”. I am also a part of the National Honors Society and seek opportunities to volunteer in my community and school. I also attend Younglife and my church's youth group.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
For the past three years, I have volunteered in coaching for my two younger sister’s volleyball team. I enjoy spending time with the youth in the gym as well as beach season. Having two sisters in the sport is very special to me and something I will always be thankful for.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
A personal challenge I have faced is walking along side my mom in her diagnosis of breast cancer. Going into my freshman year, I didn’t think this would have been a challenge I would have overcome. However, it taught me how to endure the difficult times and how to grow from them. During this challenging time, my faith grew greatly. I believe tough times are made to strengthen you.
What type of college are you looking for?
I am interested in obtaining my nursing degree. I value a program that strives for unity and personal development outside of volleyball. My dream would be to play for a strong program in both volleyball and track and field.

Isfeld has the versatility to deliver kills from any spot along the net. She was particularly effective playing opposite for NPJ at the Pacific Northwest Qualifier in Spokane. The Bend High School prospect has a tremendous vertical, and she can dominate opposing hitters with her block and crush cross-court kills from the front or back row. Isfeld and her NPJ Bend 16 National captured an American Division Bid at PNQ, capturing the championship in straight sets.
