About Kailyn

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a 6 rotation player with all around skills supporting my team however they need. I do my best to lead with my voice and presence on the court, giving confidence to my setters to be the "go to" player in tough rallies. I play knowing the team is what wins games, not the individual play.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am the daughter of two coaches that also both played at the Division 1 collegiate level. This has helped mold me to be the player I am. I am driven and know how hard I have to work to reach my goals. I also am a player that just loves to play, and I believe that reflects in my personality on and off the court. I enjoy celebrating my teammates and big plays.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am a leader in FCA, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, at my school. I am a member of the National Honor Society and have been in the Dual Immersion program in Spanish since Kindergarten and am currently bilingual.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I created a fundraiser through our school for the local Humane Society which has grown to be one of the largest fundraiser for the program. Through the National Honor Society, we participate in community service throughout the year.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

It has been a challenge playing for my mom at the high school level. I am a starting freshmen and have felt the need to prove myself in a program with a great volleyball reputation. However, I have enjoyed this challenge and felt I have grown both mentally and in my game playing at the varsity level at a young age. The challenge has been rewarding.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college to challenge me academically and in volleyball. I am still figuring my path, but have interest in athletic training and kinesiology. I have visited both large and small private schools and find things unique and interesting about both.
