Expert Analysis
Amy VanGuilder | Prep Dig Scout
Zubich is a young middle blocker who has all the tools needed to become a dominant force at the net. She has the height, power, and quick arm swing that make her a natural offensive threat, but what really stands out is how intelligently she plays the game. Zubich has excellent court vision and does a great job of reading what is in front of her, allowing her to make smart decisions with her attacks. That combination of physical ability and smart shot selection makes her a difficult middle to defend. Her numbers back that up, as she is averaging 2 kills per set while hitting at an impressive .382 hitting percentage. For a young player, that level of offensive efficiency is especially impressive and makes Zubich an exciting middle to watch as she continues to develop her game.

At 6’3″, Zubich is hard to miss the moment she steps on the court. She is an athletic, aggressive middle who covers a lot of ground laterally and does a great job getting her hands on balls at the net. She transitions quickly, makes herself available in the offense, and stays involved in every play. Beyond her physical skills, I really appreciated the way she competed. She plays with great energy, hustles for everything, and brings a positive attitude that is contagious. Basically, she is a great player and great teammate.

doesn’t just play above the net—she owns it. At 6’3”, she changes the shape of rallies with disciplined footwork and a commanding block that takes away entire lanes. What separates Ruby is how well she moves laterally for her size; she closes seams with urgency and arrives balanced, not drifting. Offensively, she runs first-tempo routes with confidence, staying tall through contact and finishing with authority. This club season, college coaches will see a middle who is learning how to control the match, not just participate in it—a true presence in the center of the floor. ~Theresa @prepdigdakotas

Standing at 6’3″ as a 2029 grad, Zubich is a prospect to watch closely. She already possesses a “heavy hand”, solid contact, and is hitting on top of the ball, traits that suggest she will have a very high ceiling as she develops.

Zubich’s imposing presence at the net makes her an immediate matchup problem for any opponent. Her style is methodical yet dominant — she reads hitters, positions herself for closing blocks, and attacks with calculated power. Must-watch skill: her ability to control the middle with both timing and authority, often shutting down entire rotations with a perfectly placed block or a quick slide attack. Beyond her height and reach, Zubich brings consistency and patience, showing a maturity in court management that is rare for her class year. ~Theresa @prepdigdakotas
