Rylee made the leap from 20th to 12th overall in the 2029 rankings with the most recent release. Rylee showed scouts a lot of top level play from two positions which is one big reason she made the jump almost into the top 10. She has the ability to be a 6 rotational pin hitter or a 6 rotational setter. It all depends on the coach and their system in how they want to use her.

As someone is can do it all on the floor one things that stands out to me is not her ability to run a fast/high level offense, it’s her court IQ to know which hitters are in the best position or have the weakest match up to exploit. She seems to know the best location on the floor to put the ball each and every play. If you watch her play you can see her mind moving and scanning the floor throughout the play seeking the openings a good top level player does. It helps that she can place the ball where she wants but as an offensive player she can also do the same. She scans the floor and is able to exploit all weakness that are left out there. Being able to put your team in the best position to win regardless of where she plays is what really sets her apart. The physical tools are there for Rylee but the court IQ is what sets her apart in my eyes.

Overall Rylee is going to turn some heads this season during club, and I would encourage all to get out and watch Aspire 15’s play this season. Whether you get to see her run a fast offense or be the offense you will not be disappointed.

Rylee was an all around standout who brought exceptional ball control and confidence to every phase of the game. She stayed composed in serve receive, defended with discipline, and played with a calm presence that helped steady her group in fast paced sequences.

Her confidence translated into smart decision making, reliable execution, and a consistent ability to keep plays alive. Rylee’s control, poise, and all around reliability made her the clear MVP on this court.

Rylee is one of those girls who can do it all, and is a coaches dream with how well she can play two different high importance positions. If you are a fan and come out to watch Rylee, you not only are you getting a top level setter who could run a 5-1 on her own, you also are getting a terminator when it comes to offense.

On the hitting side you have someone who is dynamic and aggressive and she consistently applies pressure on the opposing defense with her speed, placement, and court IQ to hit the open spot. She could fully transition to a pin hitter and not miss a step as she has a great arm swing and a lot of power behind the ball. She transitions so well, and loads to a great position every time to get the most behind her swing. As for her setting she not only can fun a fast offense and get the the ball perfectly to where she needs to each time, she is also a threat with her offensive game as well. She dumps so well and disguises it to a point you can’t tell when it is coming. She is very capable of running a high level offense and being the number 1 offensive threat on offensive as well.

Rylee is a standout volleyball player and who could be ranked in the class of 2029 for two different positions if we were able to do that. She is a top level player who can do a lot for her team and someone we will be checking out throughout the season to see her top level play.

Already ranked 3rd in kills and 6th in assists among Arizona freshmen, Rylee is proving to be a rare and versatile talent—able to dominate both as a hitter and a setter.

With 172 kills to her name so far and an outstanding .347 hitting percentage that’s earned her a #1 ranking among freshmen in AZ, she’s established herself as a go-to offensive option for Desert Ridge. Her ability to score efficiently and consistently puts constant pressure on opposing defenses, and her presence at the net is already that of a seasoned player.

She’s also showcasing her impactful setting abilities, running a smooth offense with 264 assists to date—a number that continues to climb as she takes on more responsibility for her team. Defensively, she’s just as impressive, racking up 132 digs, which ranks her 9th among freshmen statewide. Her court awareness, hustle, and ability to transition quickly between roles make her a unique and invaluable asset on the floor.

Rylee Asanovich Rylee Asanovich 5'10" | S/RS Desert Ridge | 2029 State AZ and Desert Ridge had an impressive weekend, finishing 5th in the highly competitive Platinum Bracket of the Premier Division. Rylee stood out in a big way, particularly during a strong performance against Saguaro, where she showcased her offensive IQ by consistently attacking smart from the right side and finding ways to tool the block. Her versatility was on full display — she posed a threat from both pins, moving the ball around with confidence and keeping the opposing defense guessing. What’s even more impressive? She’s only a freshman.
