Barnes makes people take notice of her because of her constant hustle. She does not take plays off. Barnes always shuffles her feet and did the splits in her final game of the season to keep a play alive. She constantly squares her arms up to balls to make solid two to three-point passes to setters. Barnes also has a tough serve to the back row. Barnes is not afraid to push balls to far corners for kills. Barnes finished the season with 472 digs, 147 kills and a team-high 63 aces.

Barnes is as sound of a libero as anyone in the 10th Region. She’s always around the ball trying to keep it alive. Barnes said growing up being competitive on the court has helped her develop that hustle mentality. The Centre College commit wants her play to inspire others to go after balls. Barnes is also a great teammate constantly encouraging her teammates on the court.

Barnes gives the Colonels solid all-around player. Bourbon County head coach Lauren Eads calls her an extremely dedicated athlete for a very good reason. She hustles like crazy after everything. She goes down on her knees after balls and quickly transitions from defender to hitter. Barnes can pound balls all over the court from the front and back rows. Her hits are difficult to dig up when she follows through. Barnes is also a solid server. She had 296 digs, 169 kills and 56 aces for the Colonels last fall. She has more than 1000 career digs.
