Smooth and confident, Sami spent this past season on Monon Select, a smaller club, as the lead setter for her squad. With that under-the-radar play, she got her team to be MUCH more successful than expected, making the hitters around her much better than their recruiting rankings would otherwise have them. Evenly distributing sets to all hitters is her specialty, and would be a nice addition to a collegiate program needing a setter to calm things down and even out the offense.

A hidden gem at Monon Select, Sami’s ability to set any ball in any situation at any time is her calling card. Playing at a more “regional” club like Monon, she’s hidden enough that only locals will know of her, making her an ideal steal of a recruit when you watch her work. With training at a high-level program like Brebeuf, she’s more than capable of being coachable, athletic and possesses a higher-than-average volleyball IQ.

About as far under the radar as you can get with a setter, Sami is on Monon Select’s 17 Cyclones, a regional club that trains under the umbrella of Academy. She’s a thumb-forward setter, meaning that her deception is tougher to read than other setters on this list. More apt to be seen as part of a 6-2 at the next level, Miss Berg is a smooth, agile and athletic setter with deceptive hands that can give fits to opposing blockers who are trying to read and react.
