Bettendorf has a very strong group of hitters, and Mitton fits in with them perfectly. I’ve been able to watch Sarah over the last few years, and her growth has been immeasurable. I don’t know what she has done over the last few months, but she looked like a whole new player. She was putting balls away like no other, and her hitting range was astounding. After watching her perform, I am excited to see how she continues to grow throughout this season with the competitive group of girls at Bettendorf.

Mitton has stood out to me when scouting her Select teams during the last few club seasons. I’ve worked two events her 15 Mizuno competed in so far this season. The Port Byron (IL) Riverdale High freshman has taken her game to another level from when I watched her a year ago. Mitton performed well during an in-person viewing at the 2026 Nike President’s Day Classic in St. Louis. It was effective play from the right side, where she’s a two-way player capable of putting the ball down with a powerful attack or in throwing up a block. Mitton has built on a ninth-grade prep campaign that saw her average 2.1 kills a set in 89 played. She added 38.9 blocks and 65 digs.
