Sidney’s gratitude:
“I want to thank my parents for given me the opportunity to play through paying for it, driving me to practice, and always supporting me. Next I want to thank my brothers who have made me as competitive as I am, they probably don’t realize how much those little competitions we had when we were younger impacted how I compete. Then of course there is my teammates, friends, and club that has brought out the joy in the game. I can truly say that my teammates are my best friends and no matter where we go they will always have my back. Finally I want to thank my club coaches for instilling the confidence and work ethic that is needed when moving to the next level, without them I would have never have achieved so much.”

Sidney’s voice on growth through the UA All-America experience:
“Give it all to God. The days that feel long, the challenges that seem impossible to overcome, and the moments when you want to give up are under control. Jesus is your best friend and is always ready to be with you with open arms.”
Sidney’s advice to younger athletes chasing the same path:
“Give it all to God. The days that feel long, the challenges that seem impossible, and the moments when you want to give up are under control. Jesus is your best friend and is always ready to be with you with open arms.”

2025 UA All-American, L/DS, Team Pearl
Sidney’s voice: “Being selected to play in the UA All-American game means that no matter how much adversity has shown up in my journey that God has his plan and everything works out in the end. Being able to participate not only in the camps but now in the game is something I would have never thought possible a few years ago, but with the support from my teammates, family, and club I can now feel proud of myself as a player.”

‘s defense. The #1 DS/Libero in Minnesota, Burley doesn’t just control the backcourt — she owns it. Her serve-receive is automatic, her platform angles flawless, and her ability to read attackers is unmatched. She gets to balls that most players give up on, turning would-be points into second-chance opportunities for her team. On serve, her lethal jump float can dismantle entire rotations. What makes Burley special is her fire — she raises the energy every time she touches the floor, giving her team confidence and opponents headaches. Kentucky is getting not just a libero, but a competitor built for the SEC spotlight. ~Theresa @prepdigdakotas

The MN Select 17-1 squad has quite the roster of athletes heading to some big time programs following high school. The top libero in the Minnesota Class of 2026 is Sidney Burley, she brings plenty of athleticism and physicality at the libero position where she can make the tough play routine and the routine plays are effortless. She will be heading to Kentucky who is another program making a lot of waves in this Class of 2026. Kentucky has always done well recruiting the Midwest and this pick up is no different for the Wildcats.

Burley is already making plays on the tip to 4 by the middle which is one of the hardest shots to defend when it’s done well. She is a super solid first contact and she can cover about 75% of the court on her own. Burley reads the play well and adjusts her platform to get the best pass possible.

Burley has been a phenomenal 1st contact for years. I remember seeing her as a 14s and being so impressed by her ability to create space between her body and the ball in serve receive. Or the way she reads the attacker and knows exactly where the ball is going even if it bounces off some hands along the way. She just has an extra layer of grit in her play.
