Miss Saiz is currently an unranked prospect in the 2027 class according to our Texas State Rankings, but is listed on our official Watch List.  She plays volleyball at Brownsville Veteran’s Memorial High School and also for the Texas Fierce Elite volleyball club.  Armed with elite athleticism and super fast footwork, she makes the setting position look easy when most know it is one of the toughest in all of volleyball.  Her silky smooth jump set and delivery of the ball had her court coaches and all scouts singing her praise all throughout the event.  With pinpoint accuracy, she set up her hitters for success all along the net during the scrimmage portion of the showcase.  She extends her arms well during her release to deliver the ball to both pins from any location on the court.  The ball shoots out fast and clean from her mirror-image soft hands.  Sophia earned this award and we love what we saw from her.  We will definitely be watching her closely this season and you should also.  Please help us congratulate her on earning a Top Performer award at our showcase. 

Saiz has been to some of our showcases before, but I think it was the first time I got to watch her in person, and I was positively impressed with what I saw. She ran a very dynamic offense and thrived with her distribution, keeping things very smooth on her side of the net. Saiz tried to speed things up when in system, but was also excellent when working with passes of the net, as, although she had to be a little more conservative, she still nailed her locations. The setter also displayed great quality playing defense in the right back position.
