Texas Senior Assassins Who Cannot Be Stopped V2

The high school volleyball season has been phenomenal so far this year and the following players have proven themselves with consistency and tenacity at the net. No one has been able to slow these senior attackers down. Texas is arguably one of the best offensive states in the nation and if you are leading the thousands of players here, that says a lot. Let's take a look at the following senior kill leaders from the Lone Star State.

Let's start with the measurables. [player_tooltip player_id='430133' first='Natalie' last='Norton'] stands 6'4" with a 124 inch approach touch and a 118 inch block touch. Most high school blockers simply cannot reach the ball where she hits it. The production matches the frame. She has 591 kills in only 88 sets at 6.7 per set, with big nights like 25 kills against Coram Deo and 24 against Prince of Peace. She is a true six rotation left side attacker and she posted 29 kills with 18 digs in another win over Coram Deo. What has really grown is her shot selection as she now mixes in sharp cuts and deep rolls when the block is set. The Gonzaga commit already has Texas All-State honors and multiple USA Volleyball NTDP invites on her resume. Then there is the number that should stop every college coach in their tracks. She is killing 58.5 percent of her swings on more than 1,000 attempts. She is simply one of the best attackers in her grad class. Please help us congratulate her on earning this well deserved recognition.

More than 1,100 career kills and more than 1,000 career assists. That stat line belongs to one player and her name is [player_tooltip player_id='443043' first='Sophia' last='Saiz']. The 5'8" senior plays both setter and right side attacker at her high school and that rare mix shows up all over the box score. This fall she has 586 kills in 104 sets and had already passed 230 assists by midseason. In my opinion, her setter's eye is the secret to her attack. Instead of swinging into the block, she finds open space with a quick arm and great vision to find the open areas in the defense. Saiz is a team captain and a Prep Dig Watch List player who has produced against some of the best teams in South Texas. A college staff that runs a six two system or needs a true utility player will not find many prospects like her. Please help us congratulate her on earning this well deserved recognition.

[player_tooltip player_id='804254' first='Rylie' last='Butler'] has 584 kills and is averaging 5.5 per set as a senior. She has topped last year's total by more than 150 with the playoffs still ahead. The six foot outside opened the fall with a 21 kill night against Ponder and later added 17 kills and 15 digs against Rice. She is long and gets up quickly off of the ground and she hits with a lot of wrist snap that adds so much pop into the ball. When the set is tight to the net she can go over the block or tool it off the hands. Big matches do not seem to rattle her. She was on the floor for Grandview's 2024 state semifinal run as a sophomore and helped sweep Troy in last year's 3A regional final. Her kill total has gone up every single season. What makes her an easy fit at the next level is that she stays in all six rotations to pass and play defense. Please help us congratulate her on earning this well deserved recognition.

As always stay tuned for more articles on your favorite athletes. If you have anyone you think we should watch out for, please shoot me an email with some info at Michael@prepdig.com. You can also DM me in Instagram and X by searching @CoachMikeDZ. Also don't forget to help these kids get more exposure by sharing our stories with your friends. Help us help them by simply retweeting on Twitter or sharing on Facebook. Thanks for following us, Prep Dig Texas Family! Don't be afraid to interact with us. We love the likes, shares, and quotes/comments. Keep them coming!
