Mike Graham | Prep Dig Scout
A number of players this height often only play the front row so teams rotate them out of the game and back in. That’s not the case with Heisig. She stays in the game and makes plays in the back row with her great range. Heisig has sound four and five-step approaches, strong extension and follow-through to terminate balls. She beats blocks with high attack points. She has tough crosses that paint side lines. Heisig has good timing on her hits to angles balls off blocks. Heisig attacks seams relentlessly and takes quality out of system swings.

Heisig (pictured) is the definition of the word versatile. On top of that, she has great size and athleticism. Heisig continuously finds ways to go over, around and even through double blocks whether it is on ones, go routes or slides. She has solid four to five-step approaches then gets on top of balls to put great power into them. Heisig takes powerful back row hits. Her net spacing is also a big key and she can angle balls off blocks and out of bounds for big points. Heisig is extremely aggressive at the net on blocks. The other blocker can step a few inches away from her because Heisig can use her length to bat down attempted hits through the double block window. Heisig makes good out of system sets, especially when she uses her hands. The six-rotation standout is also a sound passer in the back row. Her ball control on first touches could use some work, but Heisig improves each time she takes the court.

Heisig has great downward trajectory on those hits. She records awesome, timely blocks and can adjust to attempted tips over blocks. Opponents can’t go soft on her or she sends balls the opposite direction. Heisig can improve with accuracy on her jump serve and serve reception, but that will come with her dedication.
