Sydney is currently an unranked prospect in the 2029 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings. She plays for Waller High School and also for the TAV Houston volleyball club. If there is one thing I know in the twenty-five years that I have been a coach in this game, it is this…younger siblings always end up being better than their older siblings. That is a big statement seeing that Syd’s older sister is an amazing state ranked hitter turned setter who is not even done getting better herself. During the showcase, Miss Keys showed some great promise as a setter. Not only has she already made a solid name for herself this past season on varsity as a freshman, but her court presence was huge during the showcase as well. We loved her enthusiasm and competitive spirit throughout the entire event and it showed that she is ready to lead a team even at her young age. Her hands are clean when she sets the ball and she has the power to push it to the pins from any location on the court. Blessed with both power and a taller frame, she is able to play all the way around in six rotations as a five-one setter or a hitter in a six-two offense. That will give her coaches so much variety in their lineups due to her skill set. We are going to keep our eyes on her as she progresses through the club season and think she could shock some people very soon. Please help us congratulate her on earning a Top Performer award for this showcase.
