She was one of the primary hitters for Virginia Juniors. The expectation was that she would be going to Battlefield. No

appears on the varsity, junior varsity or frosh roster for the Bobcats. She is too good a player not to make the team.
Unless, as It appears she has moved to Texas where she plays for Waller high school. I will move her file to Texas but I wanted to wait until the official rankings came out for Virginia. She appears to have made the varsity team for Waller sitting third on the team in kills. Club tryouts for Texas happen early so she also has made the TAV Houston team.
Her six rotation play could still use some work, but she is a strong hitter. She earned a top performer award at the Prep Dig showcase.

Last year Battlefield finished first in the Cedar Run District. They eventually lost to Colgan in the semi-finals of the Regionals They did lose senior left side Sydney Tenant to graduation. This should open a spot for Alaenah.
Currently her game sticks out as a bit raw. She shows some streaks of struggle but when she finds the zone she is difficult to stop. While she played a little six rotation for Virginia Juniors she was also the one left side in which a defensive replacement came in for her.
Keeping that elbow up will improve that consistency in her hitting and serving. The potential exists for her to dominate the front row. While she lists only 5’8″ there appears more growth in the future. Expect her to see some left side for Battlefield. Her court playing time will come down to the consistency she shows with her hitting.
Expect Alaenah to help Battlefield to make the elite eight in the state championship.

Alaenah is still a bit raw with her game but the potential to shine exists. When her timing is right she puts the ball down with the best of them. She still tends to approach a little bit early which leaves her hitting underneath the ball. That will improve with repetition. While her vertical is good it would help her game growing a couple more inches.
When playing back row she can be an offensive force. At this age level finding a player capable of hitting a hard bic is rare. Her passing and defense in the back row still need work but those skills will also improve with time.
Alaenah will play for Virginia Juniors in the Junior Nationals in Dallas in the USA Division. When that finishes high school tryouts begin. Alaenah brings the potential to make the Battlefield varsity as a frosh.

Alaenah strung together some big hits for Virginia Juniors in their second set win over club 540. A physically strong girl who has the potential to impact the game with a little more growth. When she plays six rotations she can crush the ball from the back row. Despite the success she still needs to develop a little more consistency with her offense and her serving.
Alaenah will play for Battlefield, which usually brings a competitive team to the playoff scene every year. In 2023 they made it to the Class 6 Virginia state finals before losing to Langley. This past season they got knocked out by Colgan in a semi-final regional battle. This coming year could be a rebuilding season. for Battlefield.

A physically strong left side who can put some velocity on the ball when her timing is right. There still exists a bit of inconsistency in her game which is normal for a young player still working on her footwork.
Alaenah also needs a little more work on gaining some consistency with her serve. A lot of balls go into the net which usually means the elbow is dropping during the serve. However, despite these minor flaws with some growth and more experience the potential exists for her to dominate on the court once the maturation process settles.
Virginia Juniors will play in the USA Division for the USAV Junior Nationals.

A strong build who can put some juice on her spikes. Still a little bit inconsistent with her location. Once she enhances her approach that consistency will come. When the approach is early she tends to hit underneath the ball and bang it out.
While her defense is solid in the back row she occasionally is subbed out for a back row player. She also has a tendency to serve too many balls in the net. She needs to work on keeping that elbow up. If you are going to miss a serve miss it deep. Despite some of the flaws there is a lot of potential in her game to create a dominate player. Can’t wait to see her game when that time arrives.
