Austin Kingsley | Prep Dig Scout
Nebraska Juniors 17 Black was identified as one of the state’s surging squads after reaching NLQ’s 17 American Gold bracket. Homolka delivered the kind of consistent outside hitter play that’s required for such a milestone. The Central City junior was a savvy, low-error attacker in Minneapolis, but that’s not the full extent of Homolka’s contributions. She also dug in as a middle-back defender and dished out clutch passes for her setter. Six-rotation stars are a staple of most Nebraska Juniors lineups, and 17 Black has one in Homolka.

Homolka boasts the kind of versatility that translates to any stage. She has been a go-to terminator in the Nebraska Juniors gym and can get the job done on either side of the setter. We’ve seen the same attacking dominance at Central City High School, where Homolka has been averaging over four kills per set since the start of last fall. However, Homolka also deserves recognition for her work in serve receive and her willingness to absorb contact in the middle-back area. This is the brand of athlete ready-made for showcase triumphs.

Homolka’s 400-kill campaign with Central City drew some well-deserved attention. Not only has Homolka been tearing it up on the small-town prep scene, but her impact with Nebraska Juniors has been just as significant. We’ve always been drawn to Homolka’s ability to go pass-to-attack and neutralize any service pressure wielded by opposing teams. It’s scary to think Homolka could be even more dominant this fall.

Homolka continues to make elite performances look like ordinary occurrences. The Central City native has put up big numbers on the high school stage, and her reign continues with Nebraska Juniors 16 Black. She is a true ‘L1’ who can find ways to score on either pin in any rotation. Homolka can bounce the ball straight down, but her high-hands shots are equally effective. This is one of our biggest recent stock risers in the 2027 class.

Homolka is another small-town gem worth keeping on your radar in the Class of 2027. She dazzled us at one of our Prep Dig Circuit events this summer, which was the precursor to some enormous gains with Central City later in the year. She terminated over 4.5 times per set this fall to jump her average by over two kills per set from 2023. The Bison were also not afraid to wield Homolka’s strength in the back row, and she compiled nearly four digs per set, too. This high-volume outside hitter is on pace to reach 1,000 career kills before her senior season begins.

Homolka revealed her massive potential when she competed at our summer Stock Up Showcase in La Vista. We watched this Central City native carve up opposing defenses during team drills, and that turned out to be a precursor to Homolka’s fall success. She is putting down a whopping 4.3 kills per set on a 0.245 average to lead the Bison to a 17-5 record. Homolka’s all-around production has made Central City a dangerous team as we race toward Class C1’s district action.

This small-town theme keeps rolling along. Homolka is one of the latest hidden gems to make an impression as she wielded her quick right arm at last month’s Prep Dig Stock Up Showcase. The Central City standout takes massive, powerful swings even if she’s out-of-system. Homolka’s explosive approach and quick step-close stole the show at our circuit event, and the same will hold true this fall. Her freshman year set a high bar with over 200 kills, but Homolka is about to reach higher.

Here’s another Nebraska Juniors player we highlighted in our event preview. Homolka delivered on our lofty expectations and even managed to exceed them.
