Arbuthnot is a stat-stuffing machine who has helped keep Sumner-Eddyville-Miller in the state tournament conversation for 2025. It’s easy to hone in on her incredible 5.7 kills per set for the Mustangs this year, but Arbuthnot does so much more in the S-E-M frontcourt. She is also credited with over two blocks per set and has an uncanny ability to line up with opposing attackers. Arbuthnot’s championship experience in 2023 is still paying dividends with one of small-town Nebraska’s most fascinating programs.

We still have fond memories of Sumner-Eddyville-Miller’s 2023 championship ascent. Arbuthnot played a major role in the team’s title as a sophomore, but her production exploded last season as she became the featured attacker. This multi-position standout put down a staggering 6.9 kills per set and pushed the Mustangs through a bevy of close matches. 2025 should offer more of the same.

Arbuthnot is ready to become the new top attacker with Sumner-Eddyville-Miller. This versatile middle blocker can take swings on the left side, allowing the Mustangs to harness Arbuthnot’s quick arm as much as possible. This tactic was extraordinarily effective last year as S-E-M marched to a historic Class D1 title. Arbuthnot had over three kills per set as a sophomore and will only reach higher as the new go-to hitter.

Why not both? Sumner-Eddyville-Miller made its mark in the middle this year with O’Neill and Arbuthnot leading the way as the #1 and #2 scorers, respectively. Arbuthnot is no stranger to putting up monster numbers, and she’s just a sophomore with more room to grow as an upperclassman. She can kill balls from anywhere along the net, including as a situational outside hitter. Expect Arbuthnot to pace the Mustang attack next fall.

The S-E-M middle duo is complete with Arbuthnot appear on this feature from the Class of 2026. Opposing teams never get a break from the middle onslaught that the Mustangs can wield. Arbuthnot racked up three kills per set in her debut season and is primed for even more production as a sophomore.

Impenetrable. That’s an apt way to describe Arbuthnot’s block last season for Sumner-Eddyville-Miller, a team that earned a bid to the state tournament. No freshman in the entire state can match Arbuthnot’s blocking output last fall, but that’s only part of her impactful role with the team. She also puts down a large share of swings for the Mustangs and averaged about three kills per set in her first prep season. That’s a high bar to set, but Arbuthnot is ready for more.

We had Arbuthnot on our radar before the 2023 club season started. Her freshman year with Sumner-Eddyville-Miller culminated in a state tournament appearance, putting this talented middle squarely in the Class of 2026 spotlight. This club season has given us an even better version of Arbuthnot as she joins a talented pack of 2026s playing up with Nebraska Pride Gold 16s. Nationals is on the horizon, and Arbuthnot’s physical style along the net will be squarely in focus once again.

Another one on the board for Nebraska Pride. Arbuthnot is one of a few 2026s playing up with this club’s stacked 16s squad, and the move is clearly working well. The small-town talent from Sumner-Eddyville-Miller, a team that made last fall’s state tournament, is now making a big splash with some of her central Nebraska neighbors. It’s a welcomed sight for all prep volleyball enthusiasts in the Great Plains Region.
