Austin Kingsley | Prep Dig Scout
During last year’s championship run, Lincoln Southwest had two senior middle blockers in its starting lineup. This has opened the door for Schuster to become a new go-to attacker in 2024. She has stepped into the lineup and provided many of the same all-around skills we’ve seen from Schuster at Nebraska Juniors. Her lateral quickness helps close blocks from pin to pin, and it also helps open up LSW’s slide attacks. Schuster’s effectiveness in front of the setter was particularly helpful during Saturday’s gauntlet, and it’s no wonder why this middle blocker leads LSW’s efficiency metric at 0.305.

We’re staying in the middle for our next entry. Schuster did not take long to assert herself as one of our Top 250 Expo top performers. Her stellar work with Nebraska Juniors last spring was the start of a huge calendar year. It all culminated in Schuster dominating our showcase with lateral quickness, explosiveness, and an innate ability to read opposing setters. We can’t wait to see what’s next for Schuster in 2024, whether it’s on the club stage or with defending Class A champion Lincoln Southwest.

Let’s bring in another middle blocker who has elevated her game lately. Schuster is a Lincoln-area athlete who is making her mark in the Nebraska Juniors 16 Black frontcourt at recent qualifiers. Her effectiveness off of one foot has been particularly impressive, which helps open up the offense in 16 Black’s two-hitter rotations.
