About Tori

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I give 110% effort on and off the court, I make sure I cheer everyone on and make them feel like the effort and play was to perfection. I’m competitive in every aspect, even if I’m not in direct contact with the volleyball.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

“Great things come from hard work and perseverance. No excuses,” and that “ Hard work outweighs talent every time” -Kobe Bryant

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

FCA- Fellowship of Christian Athletes

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed a better understanding of communication, to include helpful criticism, and create a positive and encouraging atmosphere.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

My father had affairs for many years with many different women, leading to my parents divorce. It was very hard and discouraging due to the fact that my father was my best friend, and spiritual leader. That lead to a very bad eating disorder , in which I persevered and over came. I struggled with depression and anxiety for many years, teaching me about empathy and to never judge.

What type of college are you looking for?

I think the most successful college programs encourage hard-work, but also still have fun and do what you love in a positive and encouraging way.

Tori identifies her competitive nature, tenacity, and work ethic as defining traits, both on and off the court. She takes pride in being the type of athlete who brings out the best in others through her energy and leadership.

Her advice was rooted in maturity. Do not be overly critical after mistakes. Learn, move forward, and make the next play better. She understands that growth, not perfection, is what leads to long term success.
