Vanessa anchored the backcourt with a strong, reliable platform. She moved quickly, pursued every ball, and consistently put herself in position to extend rallies. Vanessa shared that reading hitters’ shoulders and identifying tips and roll shots are key strengths in her defensive game.

She is working to improve her serve receive against tougher servers by taking a more explosive first step and setting her platform earlier. Vanessa’s grit, competitiveness, and desire to win, while still having fun, made her a consistent defensive presence throughout the day.
