At just 5’5″ and a freshman, Flanagan may be one of the smallest players on the court, but she certainly doesn’t play that way. A huge jumper and fearless attacker, she held her own at opposite against 6-foot hitters, even getting touch blocks against taller middles and outsides. Her left-handed swing is a natural advantage, and she does a particularly good job attacking hard crosscourt while showing no hesitation against a bigger block. Flanagan also brings the scrappy, competitive mentality that could make her a valuable defensive specialist as she develops. Continuing to expand her shot selection—particularly her line shot and an occasional roll shot over the block—will make her even tougher to defend. With three more years to develop, Flanagan has an exciting foundation and plenty of upside as a potential next-level player.
