There are programs with some really bright futures! We all love to see who is going to be the next big recruit, so let's take a look at 6 of Wisconsin's available young guns from the 2022 recruiting class. These players should be on the list of colleges at every level!
From The Class Of 2022
Gianni Vollrath – 6'0 – Middle Blocker - Fall Creek (22-6)
You do not want to joust with Vollrath. She is so smart with a ball tight to the net and can also place a smart soft tip over the block. Vollrath is the hot hand of this group of young guns with 216 kills and hitting a .322. She isn't just a pretty swing; she puts up a BIG block and leads with 39 blocks for the Crickets.
[player_tooltip player_id="81254" first="Natalie" last="Ring"] – 6'0 – Outside Hitter – Edgewood (18-14)
Ring is Edgewood's most efficient hitter as a freshman, hitting a .267 so far this season. She recorded a career high 15 kills in their 3-1 win over Lake Mills last week. Ring is certainly getting better every time she steps on the court.
[player_tooltip player_id="22384" first="Karissa" last="Kaminski"] – 5'8 – Outside Hitter/Setter/Defensive Specialist – Howards Grove (23-7)
Kaminski is making a statement in her freshman campaign leading the Tigers with 215 kills and averaging over 3 kills per set. She already has her setters feeding her the ball to put it away. Kaminski recently recorded a career high 14 kills in their 2-1 win over Sheboygan North.
[player_tooltip player_id="81308" first="Taylor" last="Larson"] – 5'6 – Outside Hitter – Menomonee Falls (13-17)
Larson is small, but she sees the block and uses such smart shots to work around it. If she can't work around it, she powers through it. Larson is the number 2 attacker behind senior, [player_tooltip player_id="32732" first="Ashley" last="Guenveur"], and in early September, recorded a career high 13 kills in their 3-1 win over Wauwatosa West.
[player_tooltip player_id="57262" first="Abbie" last="Stigler"] – Outside Hitter – University School of Milwaukee (22-1)
Stigler is learning from a stellar senior, [player_tooltip player_id="32738" first="Chyna" last="Bacchus"], on the outside as the number 2 attacker. She recorded a career high 12 kills in their 3-0 win over Living Word Lutheran in early September and has been averaging almost 3 kills per set. Stigler will most likely end up being the hot hand after Bacchus graduates, so watch for a real breakout season in 2019.
[player_tooltip player_id="57247" first="Riley" last="Hamilton"] – 5'9 – Outside Hitter – Hartford (11-18)
Hamilton started her freshman campaign off with a bang by recording a career high 17 kills against Nicolet at the end of August. She has taken on the leadership position as Hartford's go-to kill-getter with 208 kills so far this season. The Orioles will have a bright future if they can build off players like Hamilton.
