Time to dive back into my home territory of Nebraska.

Throughout USAV Nationals, I zipped around the 16 Open courts to provide some national content for the Prep Dig site. Of course, it should be no surprise that I was also keeping an eye on the Nebraska teams and players that I’ve been covering since the year began. I’ve had some time to step back and evaluate all the Nebraska-related happenings at GJNC, and now it’s time to form a few thoughts into words.

Here are a few of the state’s 2025s that had huge stock-riser performances in Indianapolis.

[player_tooltip player_id="173530" first="Mattie" last="Kamery"] - 5’10 OH/S - Nebraska ONE 15 Synergy

GJNC gave us another look at Kamery, who has really encompassed the idea of “team player” for 15 Synergy. This multi-talented athlete has played setter for much of her prep career but has made her mark as an outside hitter this year. It’s a testament to Kamery’s versatility and willingness to do anything to win. When Nebraska ONE encountered adversity this year, Kamery was always there to rally her team.

[player_tooltip player_id="189322" first="Kendall" last="Cose"] - 6’0 RS - Nebraska ONE 15 Synergy

Like Kamery, Cose is another player on the Nebraska ONE roster who can make an impact at a variety of positions. She has the length and athleticism to be a standout middle blocker but has also shown her skills behind the setter as an opposite. 15 Synergy’s offense really gets humming when Cose is in the lineup, and the team’s spectacular ball control gives its hitters a lot of good opportunities. Cose will gladly take advantage of that.

[player_tooltip player_id="155047" first="Ashlyn" last="Paymal"] - 6’3 RS - Nebraska Elite 15 Matrix

What a year for this Nebraska Elite pin hitter. Paymal has rocketed to prominence as one of the state’s best 2025 attackers, and she showed off her wicked arm one more time in Indy. During qualifier season, Paymal emerged as a go-to hitter who will gladly take the high-pressure swings for 15 Matrix. That allowed Nebraska Elite to qualify in 15 Open, and Paymal ought to build on that success in the fall.

[player_tooltip player_id="155050" first="Mattie" last="Dalton"] - 5’10 OH - Nebraska Elite 15 Matrix

While Paymal has been thriving on the right pin, Dalton is another player who assembled a lot of impressive late-season performances in the 15 Matrix frontcourt. So many past and present Nebraska Elite hitters have found a way to make an impact in every way possible. Dalton is no different. Her willingness to take on a big passing role will serve her well moving forward.

[player_tooltip player_id="189328" first="Rya" last="Borer"] - 5’3 DS/L - Premier Nebraska 15 Gold

We’ve all been treated to moments of defensive brilliance from Borer this year, and it’s no wonder why she has seized a leadership role in the 15 Gold back row. Her instincts continue to shine in both serve receive and floor defense, as Borer makes calculated movements to make good first touches throughout a match. This also allows the rest of Premier’s lineup to flourish, and we saw some of that offensive dominance at GJNC.

Hayden Hart - 5’10 MB - Premier Nebraska 15 Gold

This late-season charge from Hart has been fun to watch, and it culminated in a great showing for Premier Nebraska in the 15 National division. Hart has experience in a variety of frontcourt positions, but her recent impact has been felt at middle blocker. She can score on a variety of tempos and can even terminate when the ball is drifting off her hitting shoulder. As Hart and 15 Gold find their rhythm, the team will be quite a formidable force in future club campaigns.

[player_tooltip player_id="189353" first="Tessa" last="Reitsma"] - 5’8 OH - Premier Nebraska 15 Black

Good ball placement is a valued trait for outside hitters at the club level. Reitsma has clearly figured out this art for 15 Black. You don’t usually see smart tip shots make a highlight tape, but Reitsma regularly scores using her phenomenal court vision and refined tipping technique. Opposing backcourt defenders have a tough time tracking this left-side attacker’s well-placed shots right over the block. Reitsma took full advantage of this at GJNC.

[player_tooltip player_id="189351" first="Gabby" last="Lund"] - 5’9 DS/L - Premier Nebraska 15 Black

Lund is the lockdown libero that 15 Black has leaned on throughout the year, and that trend continued at GJNC. I’m always excited to watch quick, active defenders go to work, and that’s what 15 Black has in Lund. She is constantly moving into good spots and getting her feet to the ball, allowing Premier to efficiently run its offense after a positive first contact. When this group rises up to the 16s age group next year, we will surely keep tabs on Lund in the backcourt.

Lindsey Hrbek - 5’11 MB - Premier Nebraska 15 Red

It has been quite a year for Hrbek middle blockers. After 17 Gold’s [player_tooltip player_id="171631" first="Kailey" last="Hrbek"] made her collegiate pledge to Embry-Riddle earlier this year, Lindsey put together a stock-riser performance worthy of mention for 15 Red at GJNC. Her presence at the net can be felt both offensively and defensively. Hrbek is adept at terminating on the "slow-quick" that 15 Red likes to run in the middle, and she also puts up an intimidating block that made a lasting impact on Premier Nebraska’s 2022 season.
