These spooky six attackers have monstrous skills on the court, and defenses have been running scared all season long.
Bambolo has committed to the University of Arizona for track and field, but the Bothel striker won’t soon be forgotten on the volleyball court. A superior athlete with size, strength, and a volleyball IQ to match, she can hit all the shots you would ever want an outside to have. What makes it scary is when the block is late and it’s a free swing the powerful senior. Bothel will pin their hopes on a run to the state tournament on Bambolo and her talented overall game.
Emerald Ridge relies on Wesenburg and her big vertical to score, she takes huge swings and is not afraid to challenge blockers. The Jaguars have faced an extremely difficult schedule this year, including an appearance in the Nike TOC Southwest. As a hitter, she posted back-to-back match totals of 24 and 32 kills, those are big numbers in the tough 4A South Puget Sound league.

La Salle is rolling, and Wheeler brings the heat for the team from Union Gap. Although not imposing in size, Wheeler gets everything possible out of a dynamic approach and arm swing, and foes in the 1A ranks have had a brutal time keeping her out of the scoring column. The 16-1 Lightning are looking to make their case at the state tournament, at the Yakima Sundome in what amounts to essentially playing at home.
The senior leader of the top-ranked Puyallup Vikings, this outside hitter with a long run of success will take her talents to the South Dakota School of Mines next season. There is a lot to like when you watch her play, but Vindivich is a passer and defender as well as a dynamic attacker, and being able to confidently play her six rotations is a coach’s dream. She adjusts well to a variety of sets, and is accurate with her shots, forcing defenses to play her straight up.

You can’t leave Brockaway out of the conversation for the best ball striker in the state. The Eagles get her the ball as much as they can, and she will deliver the crushing shot when you need it most. She attacks with authority, and more than one defender over the past four years has absorbed a smash from the senior outside. If you’ve watched her swing, you have heard the contact she makes with the ball, explosive describes it perfectly. Rockets are being launched below!!

Ferris had dominant attackers in the 1990s, but it’s been some time since the school from the South Hill in Spokane saw an outside put up numbers like Smith. She has continued to expand her range and variety as a hitter and has cranked up the heat this year too. The Saxons need her to continue to post close to 20 kills a match to stay alive in a hunt for a 3A state berth.
