Postseason awards continue to be announced with several non-seniors being honored for their efforts. The competitive ECC saw some terrific league action with Kings emerging as the 2022 outright ECC champion. The Knights placed four prospects on the 1st team, all of them non-seniors, including top honors for offense and defense as well as Coach of the Year. Here are some of the ECC's top performers that have more to offer the league in the future.

[player_tooltip player_id='114565' first='Sydney' last='Barrett'] - 2024 | Kings | Offensive Player of the Year
The Denver commit had a phenomenal season as she contributed numbers that placed her among league leaders in multiple areas of the game. Seeing the most offensive attempts for Kings, she finished second in total kills by a slim margin only to her teammate and fellow 1st-team honoree. With 362 kills on the season, she averaged 4.36 per set while hitting at a .303 efficiency, considered exceptional for a pin hitter with the volume of work she saw over the season. While leading the league in total service aces, she also finished with 193 digs and 38 blocks on the defensive side. She will return to her NKYVC team that finished 5th in the highest division of the biggest and most elite national championship event this past summer at the GJNC.

[player_tooltip player_id='114578' first='Dakota' last='Henry'] - 2024 | Kings | Defensive Player of the Year
Henry is the gem of this league defensively given her skills, court awareness, movement, and her overall contributions for the league champions. She has great experience that benefits her well to the role as a libero and the key elements of passing and defense in the first-contact phase. Her abilities and success are set up in how she reads and reacts to the game. She pursues the ball with stability, quickness and some of the best platform and angle production which led to 315 kills on the season. It won't take long for her to reach 1,000 total digs next season as she is just shy of that career mark over her first three seasons for the Knights. She averaged 3.8 digs per set while also earning a career high 49 service aces.

[player_tooltip player_id='114584' first='Elise' last='Marchal'] - 2024 | Kings
Marchal led the league offensively at 389 total kills while hitting at a .348 efficiency primarily from the middle. She also had career highs of 53 aces and 197 digs as she showcased a well-rounded skill set to be able to contribute in a variety of areas. At the net, she finished second overall in total blocks with 57. Her stock jumped over the club season this past summer given the significant presence she provided for her club team, most often called upon to terminate in the most critical moments. That experience translated well to this fall season and Kings perseverance to withstand pressure from Milford late in the regular season to win the ECC and again in the district semifinals.

[player_tooltip player_id='139272' first='Abby' last='Yoder'] - 2024 | Kings
The ECC's overwhelming leader in total assists, Yoder was the x-factor for this team and their success to the league title and in reaching the district finals. With over 1,000 assists this season alone, she bested the #2 and #3 setters in total assists by nearly 150 and 200 total assists. She now has over 2,100 total assists for her prep career with one season to go. Credit needs to be given to her attacking corps and their ability to terminate the ball, but it was her distribution skills and decisions that did a lot to put them in a good situation and that led Kings to a league best .293 efficiency as a team. Yoder also finished among the ECC's top-five in total service aces and top-20 in total digs. Along with Barrett, she will return to her NKYVC team that found great success among the nation's best in 2022.
