Sylvie is an athlete who only continues to improve. She jumped from 5th ranked to 3rd in the state, a huge accomplishment. The great thing about Sylvie, is she hasn’t even come close to reaching her potential yet. Her ceiling is incredibly high and she will excel at the collegiate level. Sylvie is explosive, hard working, and gritty on the court. She impresses in every aspect of her game. She helped lead her Sting 17 Gold team to a national championship this past summer and was named MVP of the National Division. Sylvie also earned 1st Team All State honors and was named Athlete of the Year in the GMC conference.
Morgan made big moves in the rankings from 13 to 5. Her high volleyball IQ and court vision make her a savvy and lethal setter. She is hard to read and has an incredibly clean touch on the ball. She is smart, utilizes her hitters to their maximum potential, and is a leader on the court. Morgan earned 2nd Team All State and 1st Team All Conference honors for her efforts this high school season
Cordelia is an explosive and powerful athlete. She was a hugely impactful player at the state tournament this year, and even executed her 1,000th kill in the state semi-final match. She is a six rotation player with a lot to offer and has earned her move from 9th to 6th ranked in the state. She was chosen as 2nd Team All State and was voted Player of the Year in the Classic 8 Conference.
Highlights
Karissa has been a top athlete in this class since our very first raking came out, but she is making some late moves. She was insanely impressive at the state tournament. She was also on the Sting 17 Gold national championship team with Sylvie and had a huge impact there as well. This high school season Karissa earned First Team All Conference and Second Team All State honors.
Molly is another athlete who has always ranked high in the class of 2023, but with this update is jumping from 20th to 9th. She made the USAV 17 National All Tournament Team for her efforts as libero that led her team to a national championship. She was also a key player for Burlington’s state tournament run. Molly actually played as a 6 rotation outside for most of the season including the tournament. She earned Second Team All State and First Team All Conference honors.
Kati was all over the court at the state tournament. She earned 1st Team Woodland Conference – West Division and 1st Team All Woodland Conference. Kati is scrappy and gritty in the back row. She runs the back row confidently and never gives up on a play. Kati will be a huge addition to the UW-Milwaukee roster next year and is an athlete I am excited to watch excel at the college level.
Maddy is an athlete that never stops working. She is constantly working to up her game and learning on the court. She is one of the hardest working athletes around and it shows. She earned 1st Team All Conference honors in the Woodland Conference and was a leader on the court. Maddy is aggressive and fearless in the front row. She is an athletic middle with great endurance and who is fast in transition.
Kyleigh has been an athlete on the rise recently. She made a huge jump in the rankings, from 43 to 29. Her performances throughout the club and high school season were a key reason for her jump in the rankings. She earned 1st Team All Conference honors in the Classic 8 Conference and impressed at the state tournament this season. She is gritty on the court and plays at a very high level. Her fearlessness and discipline in the backcourt will make her a high-level athlete at the collegiate level.
Sam is a high-efficiency middle who is disciplined in transition and on her block. She improves every time I see her play and has an incredibly high ceiling. Her potential is nearly infinite. Sam is a huge commit for UW-Parkside and will have an impact from the first moment she steps in the gym.
Bella was impactful in every aspect of the State Tournament. She was lethal on offense and disciplined on defense. Bella was a key player for DSHA on their State Championship run and an athlete who has helped build this program in the last few years. She is impressive in her play.
Alexandra is a truly talented setter. She has a quick touch on the ball and is smart with her choices. Her volleyball IQ and court vision are both very high level. She made a huge jump in this ranking from 81 to 35 because she truly has proven herself time and time again. Alexandra is an athlete who will only continue to improve.
Annika seems to have exploded onto the scene in the last year. I had the opportunity to see her play at the Prep Dig Sizzle then again at the WIAA State Tournament. She was a leader on the court, explosive in her play, and consistent in all of her skills. She impressed in all six rotations and was an energizer on every play. She is another athlete who made a huge jump in this rankings update from 165 to 48. Annika was named to the WIAA All Tournament Team, led her team to a State Runner-Up title, earned unanimous First Team All State honors and also was voted to 1st Team All Conference and won All Conference Co-Player of the Year.
Hannah is a very talented setter and right side who was a leader on the Wisconsin Lutheran team this year with Kati Goba Kati Goba DS/L Wisconsin Lutheran | 2023 State WI . Saying she was impressive at state is an understatement. She simply wowed me. She can set and swing at a very high level. But what stood out was her grittiness on the court and determination to better every ball. Hannah earned First Team All Conference, First Team All State, and All Tournament Team honors for her work this season.
Kenna recently committed to UW-Oshkosh and will be a really great addition to their talented team. She is explosive and can play all six rotations. Kenna was a key player for Burlington in their state tournament run. She was named to the Division 1 All Tournament Team and earned All State Honorable Mention. Kenna was also named First Team All Conference. Kenna was electric to watch at the state tournament. She was engaged on every play and made big swings on intense plays. She is aggressive in her play and is a huge talent on the pin.
