The event, however, didn’t end on Sunday as now it’s time we recognize and give a shoutout to the players who impressed the most with their skills. I’ve revealed which middle blockers were the ones to catch my attention during the event, so let’s now take a look at the right side hitters that showed something special.
I don’t think there was a player that bounced more balls than Emmerling on Sunday. Her offense has always been one of her strengths but she seems to be taking it to another level, getting even more athletic and using her length extremely well. Emmerling is a powerful hitter, but also displayed excellent technique to find good spots and impressive consistency. She also did well in the passing and hitting drills, showing a great all-around game.

English didn’t get a ton of playing time during the high school season as a freshman in a loaded Manvel roster, but don’t sleep on her. This kid has a ton of potential and started to show it during our showcase. She’s a lefty and can jump really well, a combination that typically leads to great production from the right. English also impressed me with her ability to hit sharp angle from either side of the net and with the massive firepower she’s got on her left arm.
Wilson was one of the prospects that have quietly put on a great performance at the Top 250 Expo. Very strong physically, she’s also a track and field student-athlete, but her game is not only about power. Yes, she showed she can hit the ball hard and she can do it consistently, but Wilson also did a great job in tagging the lines with her swings and used her reach well during the scrimmages. She was also probably the most consistent passer in her group during the passing and hitting drill.

Another lefty to stand out on the right, Medina has all sorts of shots in her bag of tricks. She’s long and has a heavy left arm, but is also very resourceful on offense, finding unlikely angles and creative solutions to score. She was the top scorer of her high school team Summer Creek during the last season, but showed some new interesting aspects of her game during the Top 250 Expo, such as an excellent blocking range and a very calm and composed behavior on the court.

Preston was a stud for her high school team Iowa Colony last season and during the Top 250 Expo was easy to understand why. The younger sister of class of 2022 prospect Mary Kate ‘MK’ Preston, she’s tremendously explosive and was one of the offensive standouts of the event. Preston has excellent reach on her offense, can score at ease from the left and the right and is not shy about unleashing her tremendous power. She’s also a solid player on the backcourt.
