The bid division had 42 teams in action and Prep Dig was at the FAST Complex on Sunday, following the matches of the gold and silver brackets and taking a look at the best 16 teams in the field.
We’ve taken the week to point out some players who stood out with their teams and we complete our positional tour with the most productive right side hitters:
Richardson split her time with AVA TX 18 Adidas between setting and hitting duties and, although her ballhandling and distribution were absolutely solid, she was more of a difference-maker at the net. A long and athletic player, Richardson gets off the floor really well and she has numerous resources to score. She was set quite often and responded well, siding out in big moments of matches. Very technical and dynamic on the court, she also played a big role on defense, using her great positioning to touch on several balls on the back.
Alamo 18 Premier’s heavy hitter Jones was in her usual strong form during the day, strongly contributing to her team’s offense. Very intense and explosive, she displayed a very interesting offensive arsenal, swinging around the block, tooling it or using tips to put the ball down. She remained efficient regardless of the situation and was a reliable scoring option for her team. Jones is also a very strong blocker and she made good plays at the net in that area as well.
This weekend was probably among the best performances I ever saw from Chapman, who was dominant on the right for division winners HJV 18 Elite. Her production and her consistency were both exceptional and gave her team a strong scoring option when she was at the net. Chapman was solid from the right and the left, hitting quick and higher sets and making a strong approach and taking full advantage of her right contact point to score. She was pretty resourceful too, finding sharp angles and tooling the block to score while also keeping her errors very low. Her big and technical blocker was also a factor at the net.

Reeder used her impressive tools very well to stand out on the right for Texas Legacy 18 Elite. Very tall and explosive, she makes the most of her offensive reach, hitting away from the block every time she has a chance. She was fairly effective when out of system too, sending bombs across the net that defenders often couldn’t handle. Reeder was set a lot and succeeded in most of her scoring attempts, besides also providing a strong blocking presence at the net for her team.
Roslyn Guerra
Roslyn Guerra
Guerra’s quick hit behind the setter was almost an automatic point for SA Juniors 18 Adidas because of how efficient she was with it. Very explosive in her approach and a great jumper, she took advantage of not having a fully-set block in front of her and unleashed all the power of her right arm toward the center of the court. That play was repeated as much as possible, but Guerra proved to also have the resources to score off out-of-system sets too, finding smart solutions to put the ball down.
