Guilherme Torres | Prep Dig Scout
Richardson and her team AVA TX 18 Adidas played in the 18 Open golden bracket final, ranking second after a campaign of six wins and two losses. Splitting her time between hitting and setting duties, she did a good job in both roles, being one of the team’s cornerstones over the weekend. Offensively, Richardson showed some interesting new features in her game, as, after emerging as a heavy hitter a few years ago, she had great success with tips and roll shots, indicating she’s seeing the court much more efficiently now. She also produced well on defense, getting several digs at the right back position.

Richardson split her time with AVA TX 18 Adidas between setting and hitting duties and, although her ballhandling and distribution were absolutely solid, she was more of a difference-maker at the net. A long and athletic player, Richardson gets off the floor really well and she has numerous resources to score. She was set quite often and responded well, siding out in big moments of matches. Very technical and dynamic on the court, she also played a big role on defense, using her great positioning to touch on several balls on the back.

An extremely versatile and physical prospect, Richardson can do it all on a volleyball court. Her all-around game is an asset for Clear Springs and the team has her setting when at the back and hitting when at the net and she thrives in both roles. Richardson runs a fast-paced offense but is not the kind of setter that overloads her main hitter, sharing the ball among all of them instead. At 5’11”, she’s a force when asked to hit as she combines excellent athleticism and technique when putting the ball down.
