Alamo 18 Premier’s heavy hitter Jones was in her usual strong form during the day, strongly contributing to her team’s offense. Very intense and explosive, she displayed a very interesting offensive arsenal, swinging around the block, tooling it or using tips to put the ball down. She remained efficient regardless of the situation and was a reliable scoring option for her team. Jones is also a very strong blocker and she made good plays at the net in that area as well.

Jones will offer a reliable presence on the right for Alamo 18 Premier in the 17-18 Girls division. She has established herself as one of the top right side hitters in the state and never stopped improving and developing her game. Jones always used her length and power really well to score points, but she’s gotten even better lately, adding new shots to her arsenal and improving her efficiency when hitting from the left and the middle. She plays with incredible intensity and is very well-versed with her blocking too.

A recent University of Minnesota Crookston commit, the senior right side hitter has been a force for the Cougars. Long and powerful, Jones has been using her skills well to score points, leading the team with 363 kills – she has a 43.4% kill rate and a 0.341 hitting percentage, both the best marks in the entire squad. Jones has also produced 57 blocks up to this point of the season.

The first thing that stands out when Maya Jones Maya Jones 6'1" | RS Canyon | 2023 State TX is on the court is the high level of intensity that she has. She’s a fiery competitor and will go hard on every single play. Jones stands at 6’1” and is extremely reliable with her offense. She also does a very good job with her blocking and gets to contribute on the backcourt too. In three high school seasons with Canyon, her production is at 390 kills, 110 blocks and 125 digs.
