Last week, we updated Nebraska’s 2024 rankings and spent some time overviewing new additions and stock risers within that class. Get ready for that same strategy this week–the 2025 update is here!
We’ll have a lot of new additions to address in this class, as that was a major focus heading into the 2025 update. For now, though, here are some rising stars who made a climb in our new release.
Traudt has been in Nebraska’s Class of 2025 spotlight for a while, but we’ve also covered how she has seemingly taken her game to a new level this season. The Grand Island outside hitter burst onto the national scene right away when she competed with VCNebraska 17 Elite at January’s Northern Lights Qualifier. Traudt’s ability to score at will has also been matched by her steady presence in the backcourt, making her a can’t-miss prospect in this class.
Dalton just keeps climbing. It’s fair to say that Dalton has garnered stock-riser status since last year’s fall season with Fremont. Few outside hitters in the state terminated like she did, and that came immediately after a successful club campaign with Nebraska Elite. But Dalton is now thriving in new colors this year, jumping into a Nebraska ONE 16 Synergy lineup that has produced plenty of its own headlines. The new venue has certainly not slowed Dalton’s ascent, and her team is poised for another big year on the national stage.
A surefire way to become a stock riser is to show us skills we haven’t seen before. Hagedorn has given us some of that novelty in the 2023 club season. She is bringing some serious ball control and passing skills to the Premier Nebraska gym after already proving that she can be a lethal and versatile attacker. Not only is Hagedorn poised for a massive club campaign, but she will also have a major say in the continued success of Skutt Catholic’s volleyball dynasty.
VCNebraska has quite a go-to attacker in the middle. Venable’s meteoric rise into an unstoppable middle blocker has been fascinating to follow. She put up eye-popping numbers with Lincoln Pius X last fall and continued her positive momentum at our Nebraska Top 250 Showcase last December. Now, she’s become the cornerstone of a VCN 16 Elite offense that boasts plenty more stock risers in its lineup.
The past several months have brought a variety of high-pressure situations for Ringenberg. She took the reins of the Elkhorn South offense last fall and led a program that now has big yearly expectations. When 2023 arrived, Ringenberg was called up to Nebraska Elite’s top 16s team. This setter will play a crucial role in 16 Maverick’s pursuit for another Open bid, and we’re thrilled to see it all unfold.

Evangelho is another athlete who captured our attention through the Prep Dig Showcase series. Throughout 2023, this versatile attackers has demonstrated the many ways she can take over a match from the frontcourt. VCNebraska has gotten big contributions from Evangelho at middle blocker and opposite. At this point, it’s hard to say which role suits her best.

Like some other players on this feature, Anderson is thriving after experiencing a change in scenery on the club side. The savvy setter is running the show for the aforementioned VCNebraska 16 Elite, and the new role has been a perfect fit. Anderson’s style resembles many of the other twitchy, dynamic setters who are currently in the VCN gym. Triple Crown NIT marked a big breakthrough for this rising 2025.
We’ll retuo Nebraska Elite to find another attacker who is rising to the occasion with a new squad. Miller has been tabbed to this year’s 16 Maverick team and has adapted well to the added pressure that comes with the move. She can pass nails in serve receive and will gladly go pass-to-attack to show off her full repertoire in the frontcourt. Miller is due for a breakout.
Hern gets a nod on this feature for her ability to do a little bit of everything. She is a classic setter-opposite who has already compiled some highlight moments with Nebraska Juniors, most recently as a hitter. As if Hern’s strong showings with 16 Black aren’t enough, the Omaha Marian standout will likely take on a major attacking role on the prep side this fall as the Crusaders hope to reclaim their spot among the state’s best.
Nebraska ONE has some serious defensive depth at the 16s level. Covalt joins the club’s 16 Black group from Seward, and this talented libero has proven herself through some year-round stat-stuffing prowess. After leading the Bluejays to a state championship appearance last fall, Covalt stayed in her groove and elevated Nebraska ONE’s defensive in early-season club action. The Presidents’ Day Classic in Omaha was a recent reminder of what this small-town gem can accomplish.

We’ll be talking a lot about River City Jrs in some of our upcoming features this week, but let’s get one on the board among the stock risers. Congrove has locked down the end line for 16 Navy, which is coming off a great outing at last month’s Presidents’ Day Classic. The Papillion-La Vista South athlete has been firmly on our radar since the winter showcase season, and her 2023 tenure with River City Jrs has already been another step forward.
Finally, this feature wraps up with a familiar name who is due to keep climbing. Hrbek is rising up the 2025 hierarchy at the middle blocker spot, following in the footsteps of her older sister in the 2023 class. Premier 16 Black has leaned on this physical attacker often, and Hrbek has delivered in so many ways already. Elkhorn North is surely ready to reload, too.
