Washington teams have a large presence in the 15 USA division and a limited number of teams playing the Open. The four squads in the open are Olympic Premier 15 Ambush (OPVBC), SIVA 15 South, RVC Jake 15, and SIVBC 15 Typhoon. Those teams face a tough group of teams from Texas, California, and a few others from Idaho, Oregon, and beyond.
The USA Division has 9 Washington teams challenging for the Gold Bracket, and we expect those clubs to have a great deal of success against the rest of the field. Here are several outsides to keep an eye on during the tournament.
The North Thurston athlete has a great reach at 6’1, and she is the go-to option when Dakine needs a crucial kill. She has a smooth approach and excellent hands and a feel for the game. She competes on the beach, and the crossover shows on the indoor side. Connor keeps her footwork sound and attacks the set in front where her terrific sense of the block allows her to find openings.

The SIVA 15 South outside is a multi-sport athlete who has versatility and skill on the volleyball court. The Lynden High School freshman is on the pin for SIVA and can score with a swing down the line or a strike to the angle. Her athleticism allows her to put up a challenging block and handle sets that might be off-target. Stephan is strong with good length, expect her game to continue to rise as she has excellent training at Lynden and SIVA.

Van Gemert patrols the outside and the middle back for her RVC Jake 15 team. She is quick in transition with good footwork to get off the net and be available for her setter. Van Gemert has a quick arm and she attacks the deep corner effectively, then the Freeman freshman will cut a ball to the angle when the defenders adjust. She moves easily defensively and has the athleticism you want to see from a six-rotation outside.
Lee is a strong outside with excellent length for a young pin hitter. She can deal with sets off the net and will swing smartly keeping the ball in play rather than committing an unforced error. Her high contact point and power let her blast kills off the block, but she has a roll to the line she brings out to keep teams off balance. Lee is a high-ceiling player with a great deal of development left in her game. One to watch!

Shockwave 15 has excellent athletes, and Schoenberg is no exception, The 2025 attacker from Kennewick has the versatility to swing from either pin and can find the line or the seam to terminate a point. She takes pride in her serve receive game, holding her platform and delivering balls that the Shockwave setters can deliver to any of their offensive options. Schoenberg is a consistent player in all phases, with good hustle on defense and a serve she locates to put opposing teams out of system.
