Texas will, of course, be represented in the event, featuring 55 teams across the four 16s and four 17s divisions of the event, and some of the most exciting prospects of the Lone Star State will be in action this weekend.
As we prepare to support our Texans teams in a challenging weekend, we’ve been taking a look at some of the most promising players that will be on the court and today we’ll give a shoutout to the outside hitters.
Vastly recognized as one of the top offensive players in the entire state, Davis will be playing a big role in Austin Skyline 16 Royal’s scoring efforts in the 16 Open division. Her physical tools and power are the first things that stand out when she’s on the court, but the outside hitter is a very complete and consistent hitter, displaying an unbelievable variety of shots and using each of them with impressive intelligence. Davis is the kind of player that can carry her team’s offense even their opponents know that’s what’s going to happen because she can score in such a variety of ways. She’s also very solid with her passing and backcourt game in general and is also a tough server.

Wood is another talented outside hitter who will be in action in the tough 16 Open division with her Arete 16 Navy Telos side. She has good length at 5’11” and is very intelligent with her shot selection, scoring from the pin with well-placed shots and strong swings around the block. Wood is also a very good passer and covers a large area of the court when her team prepares to receive. Her excellent technical skills and high volleyball IQ make of her a very consistent player as well.

Udoye will be playing one age group up this week with Texas Fury 16 Legacy but that probably won’t stop her from dominating the 16 USA division in Orlando. She was one of the sensations of the last high school season in Texas, putting up big numbers as a freshman with Cedar Park, and continues to shine during the club season. Her size and power are most of what makes of her a special player and one of the highest-ranked prospects in our recently-released Class of 2026 Pre Dig State Rankings, but Udoye also proved to be a reliable score and a player capable of hitting different sets from the left.

Spears became one of the most talked-about players in the state of Texas after she transferred from Virginia. She led her high school team Prestonwood Christian to the title at the TAPPS league and is making a similar impact at the club level, playing one age group up with TAV 17 Black – which will compete in the 17 Open division. Spears is an absolute beast at the net as she can score from anywhere, with any set, and is also a formidable blocker, who uses her size and length in the best possible way to put pressure on opponents. She made it to our Class of 2025 Prep Dig State Rankings and was immediately allocated in the top spot.
Another outside hitter with tremendous offensive potential, Perry will be with Skyline 17 Royal in the 17 Open division. She has been able to maintain her level of play at a very high level for quite some time now and has only gotten better and added new tricks to her game with time. Expect Perry to lead her team’s scoring efforts with her strong offensive game from the pin and deadly serves, but she’s a player who’s also going to add in every other area of the game, playing great defense and leading the team by example.
