Texas will, of course, be represented in the event, featuring 55 teams across the four 16s and four 17s divisions of the event, and some of the most exciting prospects of the Lone Star State will be in action this weekend.
As we prepare to support our Texans teams in a challenging weekend, we’ve been taking a look at some of the most promising players that will be on the court and in today’s article we’ll feature some of the most exciting liberos that will work hard on the backcourt for their teams.
Mickenheim will be in action in the 16 Open division with her team Excel National 16 Red. Her excellent ball control makes of her an outstanding defensive player and a rock on the backcourt for her team. She had an excellent sophomore high school season with Argyle and made it to our Prep Dig Class of 2025 All-State Team. Mickenheim is very quick on the backcourt and works hard to keep the ball in play for as long as she can. She’s very good at reacting and finding creative solutions to plays and is also very strong from the service line.
Highlights

Daniella Miranda
The starting libero for AP 16 Adidas, Miranda will be in action in the 16 USA division. She thrives for her positioning on the backcourt and is always in the right spot to make plays. Miranda is always very focused on the match and nothing really seems to catch her off-guard. Very active on the backcourt, the libero has great ball control and is very calm on the ball. She’s also a solid player in serve-receive.
Brand will lead the backcourt of Skyline 17 Royal in the 17 Open division in Orlando. The skilled libero is excellent with her reactions and has tremendous ball control, being able to keep even the hardest-driven swings in play when they go her way. She’s also very efficient and reliable with her passing and can be a weapon from the service line with her tricky floater. Brand is also great at covering her hitters and gets on the ball a lot because of her outstanding positioning.

The TAV 17 Black team that will compete in the 17 Open division has talent everywhere and libero is no exception. Pitts is one of the best in the business in the state of Texas and does an excellent job in terms of keeping things under control in the back. Although she’s playing one age group up, she’s a key player for her team with her ability to consistently pass well and make plays on defense. Her unusual length for a libero is a big asset for Pitts as it extends her defensive range and allows her to get to balls not many others would.
Rau will be one of the backbones of her Houston Skyline BCS 17 Royal team that will be on the court in the 17 USA division. She’s the clear leader of her team in the backcourt and positively impacts the team with her excellent communication and great energy on the court. Rau is also a very skilled player, who can make a difference with her defensive plays from the left back position. The libero is also very consistent and efficient with her passing and helps her team initiate offense on the right place.
