Not every team made it to Spokane for the Regional Championships at the Podium, but the best had awesome performances from their liberos. Here are some standout defenders from the ERVA Regional Championships.
Olivia Campbell
Olivia Campbell
The RVC Kosty senior just committed to Boise State for next season and she showed off her excellent passing in serve receive and was deadly with a side-winding, left handed jump float serve. The Renovators 18 squad pushed into the championship match in convincing fashion, and Campbell was a big driver of their success. She passes balls with a great temp to set up her two excellent setters, both in serve receive and defensively. The lefty serve is a real weapon, she takes it corner to corner and it dives away from opposing passers, pushing teams out of system entirely.
Beck is the real deal at the libero spot, she has amazing footspeed and the willingness to get on the ground with abandon to save a point for her Shockwave 15 team. She is strong against a hard swing, and has solid anticipation that will only grow with experience. In a semi-final loss to CPA Drew 16 in three, Beck was everywhere, flying to dig up balls with everything she had in the tank. The 2027 prospect from the Tri-Cities is going to be spoiling high school attackers’ days for the next four seasons.
Joswick continues to be a big-time winner, RVC Kari finished in second place in the 16 Division. The Central Valley libero plays every play with grit and a steely focus, there is no panic in her game. Great fundamentals with her platform and positioning make for effortless passing, Joswick is also creating opportunities as a playmaker who covers sideline to sideline.
Highlights
Lexi Norisada | 2026 | Libero | CPA 16 Drew | Post Falls
Norisada has worked hard to get back on the court this season after an injury. She looked completely back during her team’s run to the Regional title in the 16 Division. She was accurate as the second ball setter using her platform, keeping her CPA attackers in rhythm. It was not easy second ball setting either, Norisada displayed range and the ability to spread the ball to either pin from deep in the court. She showed her toughness in a grueling three-set win over Shockwave 15 on Day 2, a gritty performance CPA needed with only one libero available.
Cru 16 Baden libero Barbee plays with poise and a high volleyball IQ. The West Valley Yakima prospect has good lateral movement and showed a controlled and fluid serve-receive game. Her team pushed hard for a spot in the finals in the 16 Division, dropping a three-set match to RVC Kari. On day one, Barbee helped her squad knock off eventual champions CPA 16 Drew, it was an excellent overall weekend for CRU 16. Barbee has a great feel for when a ball is in/out, and rarely makes the wrong choice.
