This is widely regarded as one of the toughest qualifiers of the year in the nation due to the strength of the teams in the lone star state and also because of the teams who travel from all over the country to play in it. We were lucky enough to be able to watch the elite competition over all three days and are starting this series of articles on players that stood out to us for various reasons. Here are a few of them:
Kennedy Crayton Kennedy Crayton 5'8" | OH Allen | 2026 State TX [2026] 5-8 Outside (HS: Allen/Club: Madfrog ‘ last=”]/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Kennedy is currently ranked as the 19th best overall prospect in the 2026 class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings. She plays at Allen High School and also for the famed Madfrog ‘ last=”] volleyball club program. We have written about Miss Crayton before but during this tourney, she really showed up and showed out for her squad. Her offense was on another level as she helped guide her team to a third place finish and an Open bid to USA Junior Nationals this summer in Chicago. Although standing at only five foot eight, this young lady lives above the net and unleashes fury on anyone who stands in her way. Everything she does on the court is fast. She is able to change up her footwork during out of system plays and still get a great approach on the ball to deliver some power into the shot. Her down swing on the attack is ferocious and helps to add some amazing pace to the ball as it travels to the opposing side. This young lady is one of the top point scoring left side attackers in her grad class and that won’t be changing any time soon. We are very high on her and you should be too as you are looking for college recruits in the 2026 grad class. Mark her name down, grab some popcorn and watch the fireworks!
Jaeda Rawls-Fletcher Jaeda Rawls-Fletcher 5'10" | MB Cypress Creek | 2025 State TX [2025] 5-10 Middle (HS: Cypress Creek/Club: Texas Tornados /Verbal: Uncommitted)
Jaeda is currently an unranked prospect according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings, but she is definitely on our watch list after showing out during the tourney. She plays at Cypress Creek High School and also for the awesome Texas Tornados club program. We were lucky enough to see Miss Rawls-Fletcher in person earlier this season during one of our Top 250 Showcases in December and she wowed us then with her dynamic play. I was interested to see how much progress she has made during the season when I saw that they would be competing in the heralded LSC tournament. She did not disappoint at all. Many spectators were “oohing and ahhing” at her amazing vertical and quick arm swing. When you watch her jump so effortlessly, you wonder if she has some extra muscles in her lower body or something. She has to have one of the highest verticals in her grad class in the state of Texas as this young lady can absolutely fly above the net. Most athletes need to create momentum with their approach in order to get up, but Jaeda can rise up high from even a standing position. During the match I watched, the opposing middles and left side blockers didn’t stand a chance against her and were not able to slow her attack down. She is someone who I would take notice of now if you want a diamond in the rough.
Sidney Soria Sidney Soria 5'9" | S Randall | 2025 TX [2025] 5-8 Setter (HS: Randall/Club: Amarillo Xtreme/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Sidney is currently an unranked prospect according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings in the 2025 class, but is someone who we definitely have our eye on after watching her a few times this season. She plays at Randall High School and also plays club for the Amarillo Xtreme volleyball program. I have been able to see this young lady in action during two national qualifiers and she has made me take note of her play. Sidney has complete command of the court as a setter and understands exactly what she wants to do with her offense. This kind of leadership is key to any winning program. Although only listed as five foot eight inches tall, she has long extremities, which help her play well above the net. She uses those long arms to battle at the net while in the front row. I love how she also uses her jump set to hold the middle blockers from leaving their base. They have to respect her ability to dump before they leave to close the block and Miss Soria understands this component of her play. There is not a set location that she can’t replicate over and over while hitting the target. Her defensive range is also extended with the use of her long legs and arms. She is someone who we will keep monitoring when it comes to our state rankings list. In the meantime, please help us congratulate her on an amazing tournament with her teammates as they finished 3rd in the Liberty division.
