This may be something we say a lot about a number of different classes but there is a lot of talent in every corner of the state in this class and a lot are in very serious conversations with college coaches. Our tournaments, coverage and rankings are an aid for athletes to use in their recruiting process. But, before our coverage let’s have a little preview for this weekend. College coaches, take note, there are a lot of great players still available in this 2024 class and they will be at the Resch Expo this weekend!
Shea has had a huge year and I hope that keeps rolling for her. She won a Division 2 State Championship with Xavier as their defensive leader and then she made FC Elite 18 Elite. The beautiful part of Shea’s game is that she is such a great utility player because she can play any position. She is also a talented beach player so if anyone is looking for a dual indoor/outdoor player, she’s your gal! If not, she could be a standout at either so check her out on Court 1 on Saturday morning!
Harris is athletic, long and has a high ceiling. She can be a huge point scorer for her MBP 18 Blue squad. I haven’t seen her this club season yet but I am looking forward to seeing what she’s been working on. There is nothing better than a great evolution! Coaches, take note she plays up an age group and you will find her competing on Court 2 Saturday morning!
Pfannerstill and Wisconsin Ice will be getting back on the court after ending a long stretch of weekends on the road with winning the Mizuno March Mania. She is really consistent both offensively and defensively. Pfannerstill knows how to keep the play alive, make smart choices, and how to score. She knows how to find the opening on the court and expose a team’s weakness. Pfannerstill connects well with both of her setters and has been getting to know the 18 Prep’s setter since she will head to Ohio and help them out next weekend.
I’m looking forward to seeing Solik-Fifarek in action with Motion 17 Blue. They most recently took on some tough competition at the Show Me Qualifier in Kansas City in the 17 USA division. I’d love to know who Solik-Fifarek has been talking to and if you are still looking for a solid outside you should check out Court 3 Saturday morning.
Highlights
Metropulos has established herself as a force to be reckon with on the pins. She causes a lot of issues for outside hitters and make setters pay for setting the ball tight. She has the potential to play six rotations in high school and has experience playing just about every position. Metropulos’ height and heavy lefty swing make her an optimal right side.
Merizon is definitely a player to make note of. She is a super explosive attacker from either pin and she can fly and hang in order to score at will. Merizon can play six rotations as a setter in the back row and attacker in the front row making her versatile and this certainly helps rise her stock.

Kopacz is an attacker with a really heavy armswing and a lot of power. She takes a really aggressive approach and swing who has been developing into a very solid passer and defender as well. The MVP 17 Blue squad is going to be a dangerous one this coming weekend.
Highlights
Midwest Penguins 17 Black has really been infused and driven by the gritty playing style of Boehmer. She knows how to run an offense and her team is scrappy and has developed into a squad that always seems to be a threat to knocking top teams out. Boehmer has been a top performer numerous times because she knows how to stand out. I’m looking forward to another outstanding performance this weekend.
Highlights
Guld may be one of the most overlooked players because of her size. But she has a resume that tells a different story. Guld has experience in running both a 5-1 and a 6-2 at all levels and this works because she plays much bigger and has a really strong all around game from playing for a small high school and getting a lot of opportunities to take care of multiple positions. Guld has also improved her all around game by playing a lot of beach doubles over the years. This has been a catalyst in her volleyball IQ and ability to strategize in the game as well.
Keller has been a player on our radar since the summer of 2021. Motion 17 Blue is an athletic and aggressive squad where Keller plays a key part by being the consistent first contact. She is steady and when her team’s serve receive is one point they are very hard to stop.
