The culminating event for the CEVA club season is the Regional tournament. Taking place at the Portland Expo Center across two days, hundreds of teams took the court to secure their final standing for the season. We were able to see some of the best athletes from Oregon and SW Washington compete and took note of the stellar performances we saw. We will be featuring those athletes who impressed us throughout the coming weeks.
Without further ado, here are the 2026 passers who had standout performances.
Libero Bhashkar is a steady and solid back row presence on the OJVA 16-2 team, which impressively took 1st in the 16s Division at Regionals. Her serve receive is the best part of her game, which proved to be really important in her team’s tournament win. She is a smooth and controlled passer, and on defense she is quick and resourceful, making plays on balls that seem impossible to get to.
Galstad is an athletic player who commands the OJVA 16-3 team’s back row. She showcased the culmination of her impressive improvement throughout the season during Regionals, where her ball control and consistency shone through. Galstad excels both at defense and serve receive, going all out to make plays and putting up strong passes off tough serves.
As the G3 16-1 libero, Grace was all over the court during Regionals, helping push her team to a strong 7th place finish in Open. Grace is fast and bouncy, constantly moving and diving around the court to pick up tips, position herself to make some crazy digs, and cover her hitters after managing to put up a pass. Not only does Grace excel on defense, but she can also set well, making her an asset when her team’s setter has to take the first ball.
Highlights
Heinle has made so much improvement this season, playing as the Athena 15-1 libero. Although she has always been a talented back row player, Heinle’s defense has become next level. She is super fast, which helps her pick up nearly anything and make a play or keep a play going. Heinle is also a consistent passer, and at Regionals she showcased her great hands and ability to set the ball when needed.
Tiny but mighty, Jespersen is a quick and steady libero for the NPJ Salem 15 National team. Jespersen is a force in the back row, and she showcased her confidence and consistency during Regionals, commanding her team’s defense effectively. She is able to pick up balls that seem impossible to get to, and she makes quick and quality defensive moves, largely thanks to her excellent defensive reads.
The #1 defensive specialist/libero recruit for the class of 2026, Tuioti is a stellar, versatile, all-around athlete. Previously an outside hitter, Tuioti has since transitioned into the libero position this season for the NPJ Salem 16 National team and has done a standout job commanding her team’s back row alongside Brooklyn Rapp Brooklyn Rapp 5’7″ | DS/L McMinnville | 2025 State OR . Tuioti showcased her impressive ball control and quickness during Regionals, creating a lot of opportunities for the team to succeed by extending rallies and making tough plays.
