About a month ago, we unveiled our 2025 national rankings in the lead-up to open recruitment on June 15th. We’ve seen a wave of commitments since then and transitioned into the biggest tournament of the year after that. A lot is going on.
So, it feels like a good time to reflect on some of the standout 2025s we saw at GJNC. We’re perusing the 2025 rankings to find which athletes stood out among the nation’s best.
The 16 Open MVP. Not many athletes across the entire GJNC landscape can match the impact we saw from Sigler. The Nebraska commit brought a wicked combination of heavy heat and competitive fire lifted Arizona Storm to its second Open championship in three years. Sigler is one of those unflappable outside hitters who refuses to lose on stages as big as USAV Nationals. That’s a college-ready athlete.
Davis was an all-tournament honoree for Drive Nation 16-Red, and it’s easy to see why. We’ve seen this high-flying pin hitter take over matches throughout the 2023 season. Her team immediately established itself as a championship contender with a 5-0 Round 1 record while Davis led the scoring onslaught. Davis continues to develop her six-rotation repertoire and will surely be a force at the next level.
We’re about to mention a few 2025s who played up in 17 Open. Musgrove is a player who has to be in that discussion. The Texas A&M commit was an all-tournament honoree in 17 Open and showed all the skills necessary to be an elite setter. Her rhythm to the pins was impeccable, and Houston Skyline found an unstoppable groove en route to a podium finish at GJNC.

Wardlow made a pre-GJNC splash with her commitment to four-time defending Big Ten champion Wisconsin. Then, she backed up that huge pledge with a stellar outing at USAV Nationals. This Lincoln Southeast prep athlete brought some of her best volleyball to the year’s biggest stage and helped Nebraska ONE 16 Synergy finish third in 16 Open. The sky is the limit for this soon-to-be Badger.
Highlights
Kinney is a recent addition to the 2025 commitment list, as she verballed to Minnesota in the immediate wake of GJNC. Her all-tournament performance and podium finish in Chicago left little doubt that she was bound for an elite program like Minnesota. Tribe leaned on Kinney throughout USAV Nationals, and the terminal left-side hitter always delivered.
Well, the Big Ten keeps racking them up on this feature. Dunkle, who will continue to don purple when she transitions from Circle City to Northwestern, has long been a frontcourt trendsetter for her club team. Her versatility as an attacker is complemented by her blocking instincts and knack for racking up quality defensive touches. There’s a lot to like with Dunkle’s Circle City group after the middle blocker became the latest D1 commit on the roster.
Liberos need a bit of representation on this feature, and Warren is an easy choice in that regard. She nabbed all-GJNC honors with 1st Alliance 16 Gold after the team’s runner-up finish in 16 Open. Warren is an incredibly intelligent defender who takes a large share of first contacts in the 1st Alliance backcourt. This allows the rest of 16 Gold’s attackers to focus on their primary responsibilities in the offensive phase. That’s the value of an elite libero.
Evens has cemented her place among the steadiest, most consistent liberos in the entire 2025 class. The stretch of WAVE dominance at GJNC was fueled by rock-solid ball control, and Evens was the unquestioned leader in that area. She passed dimes throughout the week and dug heat from some of the division’s most intimidating attackers. Statement made.
Here’s another one of those 17 Open competitors. Goolsby is the Swiss army knife for KC Power 17 Black who can dominate in any manner of her choosing. She’s strong at the net with sky-high swings but can also bring defensive prowess to the backcourt. Just another stout all-around talent in the KC area!
D1 commits have been rolling in from Legacy 16-1 Adidas. Grenadier made her commitment to Colorado after a spectacular 2023 season that was capped off with a strong GJNC. She’s the ideal M1 who can make her presence felt in front of the setter or off of one foot on the slide. Better yet, the Buffaloes are no stranger to producing some of the Pac-12’s strongest middles.
We’ll wrap up Part 1 with another big-time 17 Open star from the Class of 2025. Pitts has been an impenetrable force in the TAV 17 Black backcourt this year, helping the entire roster to flourish in big moments. She’s unusually long for a libero, allowing her to extend her reach farther than you might expect. Pitts will surely have plenty of suitors from the college side and has boosted her stock further after GJNC.
