Setters Who Impressed at the Iowa Stock Up Showcase

To take one hundred or so athletes from all around the state and some surrounding states and make it all work to form perfect rallies is impressive and these athletes are the ones that make it all happen. McAndrew has great hands, whether using them to set or serve/receive, she is good to go. She is quick and moves to the ball very athletically and has a great range to her hitters. She spreads the ball out so that the attacks are not all coming from one side and lets the hitters know what to expect. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='437486' first='Olivia' last='Donovan']</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Donovan is a 5'9" junior setter from Wahlert Catholic High School. Donovan is a very quick setter. She can dig, set, hit, and serve. She has all of the key skills needed for a good setter. She moves well on the court and she knows where her team and her opponent's players are all the time so the choices she makes when setting hitters are smart and well-informed. Iverson is a very impressive and powerful athlete. She has those spastic muscle reflexes that most athletes dream of and uses them to set her team up for success. She has great hands and puts up a great set. She communicates with her team while deciding where to go next. Bakula is only a sophomore but already has great control on the court. She has great hands, great range, and is very court aware. Coghlan knows where to put the ball every time she touches it. She is very court aware and smart. She makes great decisions about what she is going to do to try to get a point. Henderson has a great platform, a great serve, and is very fast. She gets under the ball quickly and then moves it around to many different hitters. She is comfortable and able to move it around and let her hitters know where she is going so the rally continues to be a kill for her team. Stewart has great parity, can dig well, and is smart about the types of sets she puts up for each of her hitters. Davis is a very young athlete and knows her job. She gets to the ball quickly, moves it around to different hitters, communicates with her teammates, and can dig well too.
