Nebraska has had an impressive wave of 2024 and 2025 pledges since the end of the club season. It’s a natural time for many of these commitments to happen, especially with college camps happening around the country in those post-club summer weeks. We keep adding to the list.
Here is a breakdown of some recent Nebraska commits from 2024s and 2025s.
Our first athlete featured on this recap has done it all on Nebraska’s prep stage, so it’s no surprise to see her make a big-time college commitment. Maser, a state championship-winning setter with Grand Island Central Catholic, recently gave her pledge to play D1 volleyball at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. The Bulldogs will surely take advantage of Maser’s physicality and savvy distribution when she arrives on campus in 2024.

Davenport’s recent rise up the prep ranks has landed her a future spot with D2 powerhouse Nebraska-Kearney. Her multi-faceted role with the Lopers could include stints as a setter or a defensive specialist, which is a testament to Davenport’s ball control prowess. Look for the Nebraska Elite star to make another splash during the upcoming high school season with Papillion-La Vista.
One of Nebraska’s most recent 2024 commitments is another addition for the D1 ranks. Rink has given her commitment to Northern Colorado, a perennial contender for Big Sky Conference titles. That kind of spotlight will suit Rink well, as she been put in big matches throughout her career with Lincoln Southwest and VCN. There are still more of those big matches to be played before Rink’s collegiate career begins.
Piening adds to the wave of talented athletes bolstering the Nebraska Wesleyan volleyball program. This Norris defensive specialist has demonstrated her readiness to be a major asset to the Lincoln D3 squad. Piening is coming off a successful season on the club side with Premier 17 Red and has one more state title to pursue with the Titans. She will be a fixture in the lineup this fall.
How about Piening’s club teammate and co-conspirator in the backcourt? Boyd has pledged to Morningside, an NAIA program in Sioux City, Iowa, that has been absolutely piling up Nebraska commitments. We’re fascinated by what Boyd could bring to her final prep season before making the jump to college. She is a new addition to the Lincoln Southwest lineup and could play libero for the title-hunting Silver Hawks. Boyd also brings a background as an outside hitter, so you never know what to expect from this versatile athlete.
Another one for the Morningside tally. The Mustangs have landed Hagedorn, a high-flying outside hitter who will represent Lincoln Pius X this fall. Hagedorn’s massive breakout club season with VCNebraska 17 Black this year proved her readiness to take on the collegiate stage. Her wide-ranging impact was never limited to attacking, as Hagedorn brings the passing and defensive skills that coaches always covet.

Now, we’re getting into the 2025s. Jelinek made a commitment splash immediately after earning GJNC all-tournament honors in 16 Open. The Nebraska ONE 16 Synergy outside hitter committed to Long Beach State, a team led by former Nebraska assistant coach Tyler Hildebrand. Jelinek’s style will fit perfectly with the up-tempo system being implemented in Long Beach. There’s no doubt that Jelinek’s backcourt prowess also played a significant role in her high-level recruitment, and we’ll be reminded of that when she competes with Norris this fall.

South Dakota strikes again! The Coyotes have made a concerted effort to get Nebraska representation in each of its recruiting classes for the past several years. Pokharel gets the Summit League champs on the board for 2025. The Millard West libero has been a prominent piece of the puzzle for Premier Nebraska in multiple age groups, so her pledge to the D1 level is no surprise. Big things are still ahead at the prep level.
D1 commits are rolling in for Nebraska’s Class of 2025. Venable has brought the Summit League back into the conversation with her commitment to Nebraska Omaha, a program that packs the majority of its roster with in-state talent. The Mavs are surely excited about Venable’s ability to play a variety of positions and find a way to succeed. We’ll be looking for more eye-popping numbers out of the Lincoln Pius X junior to close out 2023.
