Minnesota Volleyball Games of the Week

Minnesota volleyball teams are jumping into the heart of conference play, which gives a good look at how top prospects fare against the opponents who know them best.   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Wayzata at Minnetonka - Tuesday, September 19 at 7 p .m.</h2>   The top-ranked team in Class 4A, Wayzata (12-0) looks to keep going strong against Lake Conference rival Minnetonka (3-4). The matchup features a host of top prospects.   Wayzata senior setter [player_tooltip player_id='107264' first='Stella' last='Swenson'], the top-ranked prospect for 2024, has been dominant on set assists thus far. A member of the Minnesota Select Club team, Swenson will play at the University of Minnesota next year.   Fellow Trojans senior and outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='107898' first='Olivia' last='Swenson'] has been a force on kills this fall. Also a Minnesota Select member, Swenson ranks No. 5 in the 2024 class and will also play for the Gophers next fall.   Trojans senior 6-foot-4 senior outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='107899' first='Avery' last='Jesewitz'] has been productive all over the court. Also a Northern Lights club player, Jesewitz ranks No. 16 the 2024 class and hasn't declared where she will play next fall.   Minnetonka 5-foot-9 senior setter [player_tooltip player_id='136657' first='Anna' last='Lockhardt'], ranked No. 59 in the 2024 class, hasn't announced her college choice yet, either. Lockhardt has been a solid defensive player for the Skippers all season in the digs department.   The Skippers also have an exciting prospect in 6-foot-1 junior outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='177432' first='Hannah' last='Jackson'], No. 21 in the 2025 class. A Minnesota Select club member, Jackson is an offensive threat in the kill department, including a 20-kill performance against Shakopee on September 9.   Minnetonka 5-foot-9 junior setter [player_tooltip player_id='448743' first='Aubrey' last='Johnson'] ranks No. 78 in the 2025 class. Also a [program_tooltip program_id='431951' first='Mizuno' last='Northern Lights'] club player, Johnson is a versatile threat for the Skippers.     <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Northfield at Mankato West - Thursday, September 21 at 7:15 p.m.</h2>   The top-two teams in the Big 9 Conference, Northfield and Mankato West, meet in a matchup that features notable outstate prospects. Northfield (7-3) ranks No. 3 in Class 3A, and the Mankato West Scarlets (8-3) have a talented squad.   Northfield Raiders 5-foot-5 senior defensive specialist/libero [player_tooltip player_id='135313' first='Lucille' last='Larson'] has a knack for digs. Ranked No. 20 in the 2024 class, the University of Sioux Falls commit also plays club for Northern Lights.   Raiders 5-foot-3 defensive specialist/libero Isabelle Rushing also makes things tough for opposing attackers. Also a Northern Lights club player and ranked No. 60 in the 2024 class, Rushing will play for Juniata College next season.   Northfield has one of the juniors in the state, [player_tooltip player_id='285235' first='Hannah' last='Koester']. Ranked No. 16 in the 2025 class, Koester is a dominant 5-foot-10 outside hitter. Also a [program_tooltip program_id='431951' first='Mizuno' last='Northern Lights'] club player, Koester hasn't yet declared where she will play college volleyball.   Mankato West 5-foot-6 defensive specialist/libero [player_tooltip player_id='448745' first='Ella' last='Olson'] sets her team up well on serving, and she has a strong spike. A [program_tooltip program_id='431951' first='Mizuno' last='Northern Lights'] club member and ranked No. 92 in the 2025 class, Olson hasn't announced her college choice.   Scarlets 5-foot-4 defensive specialist/libero [player_tooltip player_id='348267' first='Valencia' last='Carrera'] is on the 2025 class watch list. Also a member of [program_tooltip program_id='430455' first='Mizuno' last='M1 Minnesota One Volleyball'], Carrera does well at putting her teammates in position to make kills.     <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Minneota at Renville County West - Thursday, September 21 at 7:30 p.m.</h2>   Two top-10 Class A squads in Minneota (7-2), No. 1, and Renville County West (7-0-1), No. 10, feature multiple prospects to watch.   Minneota 5-foot-11 senior outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='166362' first='Ella' last='Johnson'] ranks No. 46 in the 2024 class, and she hasn't announced a college decision yet. Johnson is an offensive force for the Vikings.   Senior 5-foot-4 defensive specialist/libero [player_tooltip player_id='174739' first='Lyzah' last='Sussner'] ranks No. 121 in the 2024 class. Sussner, who also plays for Southwest Minnesota Volleyball, is a stout defensive player for the Vikings.   Renville County West 5-foot-11 middle blocker [player_tooltip player_id='200548' first='Coraley' last='Bryan'] ranks No. 157 in the 2025 class. Bryan is dangerous around the net with her attacking and blocking ability for the Jaguars.   Junior middle blocker [player_tooltip player_id='177454' first='Avery' last='Roxberg'], 6-foot-2, ranks No. 46 in the 2025 class. Also a [program_tooltip program_id='429186' first='Kandi' last='Elite'] player, Roxberg has an overpowering spike.
