We asked coaches, fans, teammates, and opponents to send us their shout-outs for athletes who played impressively during the month of September. We have been highlighting several of those athletes. Finally, the classes of 2026 & 2027!
Brooks, a pin hitter for Barlow, is a hard working, committed, and dedicated athlete. She has a heavy arm and drills the ball deep into the corner, and although she’s a bit undersized, Brooks has an impressive vertical. In the back row, Brooks is a consistent and solid passer.
Lainey Day
Lainey Day
Day, who transferred to Nelson from Damascus Christian this season, is quick, explosive, and powerful out of the middle. Thus far this season, Day has notched 14 solo blocks, 31 assists, and 70 kills. She reads the attack well, and she communicates and executes effortlessly. Day brings the Hawks lots of success.
Fox has had a tremendous impact on Forest Grove’s team. She leads the team as captain and is always on the court. Fox jump sets effortlessly and is one of the top servers on her team. Fox’s excellent play has led Forest Grove to an impressive 14-6 record so far this season, and a top 15 OSAA ranking.
Highlights
Taking on a totally new role for Central Catholic, the libero turned outside hitter has stepped into this role with confidence. Although she’s undersized for a pin hitter, Heinle’s hitting percentage is constantly improving, currently at a .181 with 134 kills on 371 swings. Given her previous experience as a DS/L, Heinle is passing well with a 2.01 on serve receive; she has also posted 22 service aces, and totals 69 digs.
Central Catholic’s most effective offensive weapon, Kincaid has shown so much improvement to her game over the past month. She is hitting a very impressive .312 with 166 kills on 382 swings, and her attacking arsenal is hard to stop. Kincaid is also a force at the net with 17 blocks so far this season.
Trees, Nelson’s primary libero, recently returned to the court after an early season injury. Her ability to command the back row is impressive. Trees is powerful and controlled, and in just the two weeks since her return she’s notched an impressive 90 digs and 16 aces.
Chrismer, who played middle during her club season, has transitioned to hitting on the outside for Forest Grove well. She is an offensive weapon and finds openings on the court consistently. Chrismer is also controlled on defense, and she is solid from the baseline.

Livingston is motivated and hard working, and she is constantly striving to keep the ball alive. Livingston has a quick and explosive approach, getting up high and swinging hard to put the ball away. She uses the block effectively, too, tooling the ball off opponents’ hands effortlessly.
